Yeah this is a fairly normal preferance. Lots of men like heavier girls. Media just likes to lie to you. It's not a shocker. It's all preferance.

Lots of men hate frigid sarcastic obsessed with personal hobbies and work types, which is why I'm /forever alone. Yeehaw. Ugh sorry my relationship phobia is showing. I have more fufillment in my work than other human beings.

I'm fairly skinny. In my two sexual experiences to date, I've been with women who were significantly heavier than I am. At first, I didn't know if I'd like it or if I'd even be attracted to an overweight individual. I was wrong. Everything society told me about how I should feel about people with these body types was incorrect. It was awesome. I'm kind of thinking I prefer it. There's something tactile about the softness, the flab, the weight, the small folds, and the disproportionate size that just turns me on. It feels more feminine somehow.

I'm not saying I only like fat girls. I'm definitely not saying all the girls I've ever been attracted to were fat. I don't think I was attracted to these girls merely because I thought I could "get with them" because of low self esteem. I'm not saying I like all fat girls. I still don't think I've been with someone who would qualify as "morbidly obese" yet. I have never been with a skinny girl, so I'm not even sure if that would be substantially different. An overweight coworker was telling me awhile back that he had reservations about dating a woman who was chunkier than what he was used to. I had to tell him that I used to feel the same way, but "dude, you don't even know..."

With all the emphasis society and women themselves place on weight gain/loss, I feel like a bit of weirdo. Then again, I don't think it's a full on "fetish" either. Basically, a woman's body type has a limited effect on how I feel about that person and with some of the things I've heard guys say, that seems out of the ordinary for my gender. Is this normal? Have any other posters seen the light?

Hey, the more you discover about yourself the better. So what if it isn't what society considers the "norm".

Liking different things is fine. I can't call it normal as in the majority, but it's not wrong. People think I'm weird because I'm not attracted to buff dudes. I don't care what people think, keep loving who you love. Unless it's illegal.

There's a big variation in fitness among people with extra body fat, depending on whether they exercise. On one side you have the couch potato: slouched posture, sagging breasts (male and female), uneven distribution of fat, they were probably in better shape at one point in adult life but let muscles atrophy into fat. On the opposite side you have the physically active but high body fat crowd: overweight for all or most of their life, fat is evenly distributed and proportioned, back muscles support large breasts from sagging, flexible enough to dance, heart works well enough to support arousal, etc.

The experts agree, losing weight and body fat is more about diet than exercise, while exercise brings a lot of other health benefits besides weight loss. This leads to the situation where an overweight person who exercises can be more healthy and attractive than a normal weight person who does not exercise. For women especially, I wish the media talked more about this, put more emphasis on health through physical activity than diets and low body weight.

It's not weird at all. My dad liked larger women and I'm gay and like larger men (though I prefer a bit chubby rather than massively obese).

Honestly, it's one of my more normal preferences.

Blonds, dark skin, freckles, tall, smart, funny-we all like different things and that's a good thing! It means there's someone out there who will love you for just being you.

It would beneficent you if you didn't refer to them as "fat chicks." It doesn't matter how much they appeal to you, and you're able to see through societies slim-preferred influences. If you can't respect women in general, then it doesn't much matter who you prefer, you'll be single.

Curvy is the way to go. There's a reason that an "hourglass figure" is considered attractive. Or was. Nowadays, the skinnier a girl is, the more attractive society finds her, which I think is wrong. Not only is super-skinny unhealthy when it comes to giving birth (and other things), but there's nowhere to hold onto. Stick-women feel like they'll break in your arms, but a girl with curves feels just right.

According to some porn infograph I found the other day, fat women porn is the 6th largest (no pun intended) genre. So its not unusual at all.

Me personally? I dunno man. I dont like fat chicks, but I dont like really skinny ones either.

Everyone has their preferences. I'm the opposite of OP here. I will literally ignore practically any trait in a woman if I like her as a person. "Unsightly" scars, physical imperfections, etc. However, I absolutely can not date an overweight woman. A little extra meat on the bones is fine, I even like a girl naturally curvaceous figure, but the minute I start to think "she could really stand to lose a few", I just can't remain attracted. The visible appearance of fat is just so sexually off putting to me. For a while I felt guilty about it, but then I realized that I can't control what I do and don't like. I can definitely "try", but trying is all I can do. No need to beat myself up over it.

There is a line. Too fat, no. But chubby? Yes. When it comes down to it I like girls who are the size they're meant to be, if they're naturally skinny they look great, if they're naturally bigger they look great. I don't like either of the extremes but yeah, if a girl doesn't work hard to obtain a body type she's just not meant to have then I like it. I hope that makes sense.
