Poll: So...Milestones, then.

So, there I am, just making my various kinda' posts, and I start to wonder what I should do for my 20,000th freakin' post. Why? Because I like to make a spectacle for fun and profit (except that I never get any money). I do that because I like milestones, things that say that I did a thing, that it's under the belt now, and now see what ELSE I can get down to. For everyone around, this can be any sort of thing that brings about a feeling like that, even an Achievement Unlocked or a Trophy Gained.

What do YOU do when you reach a milestone?

(And yes, you can all vote Option 3 and make Wesley reach Ultimate Suffering. It's more fun that way.)

OT: Usually when I reach a milestone I just keep going on to the next one. I'm not huge on sentiment unless it's primary importance is to someone else. I guess I'm just one of those boring fuckers.

If you continue to post at your current rate it will take you over a decade to reach 50,000. Even if you don't get bored of this place by then (a decade, it seems like the most likely outcome) it's quite possible that this site won't even be around that long.

I'm not exactly overly concerned about post count. I'll post something if I'm having a conversation with someone or I've got something to say about the topic. That's about it really.

As for what I do when I reach a posting milestone, I dunno. Haven't even reached the first one yet. I imagine I'd let off a flare.

EDIT - Just worked it out: At my current posting rate (~600 a year) it'll take me another 77 years to make 50k.

I won't be alive in 77 years...

I usually don't actually do something when I reach a milestone, I usually too way too much prep for the actual milestone and then sigh with relief that I pulled it off. Given that I come up with the most arbitrary shit to count as milestones, it feels fitting I get nothing but the thought of "I did that" afterwards.

Perhaps I should try and reach 5k before The Escapist becomes a "Dark Souls"-esque wasteland - if not, 3.5k (you see the arbitrary-ness).

When I hit milestones I wind up treating myself to something...generally ice cream or sometimes a game or comic I've been holding off of buying. Or if it's a milestone that I would consider less important I might just get a slightly-more-expensive fast food thing in the morning, on my way to work than what I would have usually picked up.

My opinion of THIS forum's layout got me four warnings because they thought I was trolling relevent threads. Not so! I merely voiced my honest (and negative) statement regarding how it was hurting my eyes. (Susan called me a dick, or something. It was not good times.)
