So my question is thus: Do you play any Pen & Paper RPG's such as D&D or the Fallout PnP?

I don't but I really want to try them out. I just don't have any friends with any interest in them. But I will continue to whittle away at there patience until they play one with me.

Used to have a D&D group. We're trying to get it back together. I was the tank. Paladins are awesome

I've never been able to, mostly because I don't know anyone else around where I live who would; I'd like to, though.

If I could get some money for the book, ect., I'd love to play with my friend if they were into it. But I both do not have money and know no one who would be into it.

I never have, even if I have books for them. (I'm weird, k?)

I really want to, I mean really, but none of my friends enjoy that stuff, and all the local places are in pubs, so over 18's or only take experienced players, plus there mostly DnD.

Also, I fail around new people, just fail.

Used to, but don't have either the circle of friends or the inclination to find a group, at the moment.

Loved them when I did, though.

No, though I want to. I've bought the D&D 4th rulebook set, but I haven't found a group. Sadly, now I'm in college, I've got very litlle time for D&D, even if I were to find a group.

It depends on who your dungeon master is. If he's skilled and flexible enough pen and paper RPG's are far better than a computer RPG will ever be but if he isn't all that good it'll be one of the most boring experiences of your life.

I've devoted entire weekends to it when the DM knew what he was doing and vacated in less than an hour when he didn't.

I have a few of the basic D&D 3.5e books, but mostly we played either Runequest or the new World of Darkness games using books my friend has, in addition to trying a a few campaings in Blossoms Are Falling expansion to Burning Wheel system. Haven't played in about a year, when our latest Mage the Awakening campaing ended, but I'm thinking I'm going to gather up the group again for another campaing.

I did a while back but not since I left school. Pity really, as I quite enjoyed them.

Don't play regularly anymore. Working on that.

Have, at some points, played over a dozen different systems.
(Okay, some were just different "editions".. But when you rework the entire rule sustem from one edition to the other to the point where even your fans wouldn't notice if you just took a completely different game and slapped your name on it then I count it as a new game, okay?)

Of the two you mentioned, I recommend D&D.
I only know of one Fallout PnP game, and that game literally uses the same system as the Fallout games.
Using a system that is based on having a computer calculate everything for you so you can focus on other things is NOT a good idea for pen and paper because that means YOU have to sit around for five minutes every time you try to hit a fire gecko because the game master has to bring out the TI just to find out where you hit it.

Otherwhise White Wolf make good games.
No wait, the made A good game, and about a billion completely different settings for it because every game they've made uses more or less the same system.
Anyway, I recommend World of Darkness if you want something emo grimdark, or Exalted if you want anime-like "JUST GIVE ME ALL THE SUPERPOWERS ALREADY! MY POWERLEVEL IS OVER 9000!" kind of characters with over the top action. (Seriously. Your characters are pretty much demigods... At level ONE.)

(And I think this post sounds kind of angry.. Sorry about that. I've been rewatching too many of the old Zero Punctuation lately.)

I play semi-regulary... which means: "when someone has the time to prepare an adventure". We have a Vampire the reqiuem campaign that sort of been put on ice, my friend is about to start a D&D 4th edition campaign (he also storytells the Vampire campaign) and I'm preparing a Call of Cthulhu - Delta green campaign/adventure (I'm going to GM the adventure "Puppet shows and Shadow plays" from the Delta green rule book as the first adventure). I have several other adventures/campaigns that are semi-finished, but I haven't been able to find the energy to finish them... not yet at least.
