So I'm really thinking of trying the secret world, reviews are good but reviews are not something I normally trust, so I was hoping that the escapist community has some opinion on the game?

So anyone tried this game yet? If so is it any good? Pros? Cons? So on.

Share your thoughts and hopefully anyone curious (like myself) can decide if they wanna try it.

Thanks and have a wonderful evening :D

I rarely even take "professional" reviews into consideration when purchasing a new game. TSW is getting awesome reviews but the player reviews are what counts and it seems as though everyone loves it. I myself am considering it. There is a free trial this weekend. Create an account and dl it now. It's a massive download. You'll be ready and know how it is Friday if you can manage to wait! :D
There's a free trial this weekend? I have heard nothing.

My wife got it for me a couple of days ago and so far i'm really enjoying it.

Investigation missions can be a pain in the arse though.

Probably better than any other MMO I have ever played (Those include WoW, Age of Conan and Fallen earth)

I like the combat, the fact that you can change class when you want essentially is cool too. I play blood magic and it's pretty sweet :3

I'm really quite enjoying TSW. It's got an intuitive control a really fun world with entertaining and imaginative stories.

My only real problem with the game is that because of the "everyone can do everything" nature of the game it's a little too easy to work yourself into a corner in terms of your chosen skills.

Don't go in for the combat, but for the puzzle solving.
Also, I hate its business model.
I mean, a sub model and a cash shop?!
Then again, it is published by EA.

It isn't, Funcom only had physical distribution handled by EA. Meaning that EA had absolutely nothng to do with the game at all.

Published, not developed.

Besides, EA published ME3, and we all know what happened there.

A totally fantastic game with merely a lackluster ending?

OT: I've heard great things, and people on my Facebook love it, too. So it's not just critics who love it, but players, too. Me? I'm happy with EverQuest 2, and getting Guild Wars 2 on launch.

A good game, with a rushed, lacklustre ending, and Day 1 on-disc DLC, which contained some lore elements.

I like it. Wish I had more time on my hands to play it more. -Try- it first though. I can't say it's for everyone, and some of the missions actually require a brain. Unless you cheat, of course, but where's the fun in that. Therefore, if you do manage to get into a free weekend or something, I challenge you to not cheat during any mission. (Using the internet is not cheating, in this game mind you.) Cheating would be looking for the answers directly. In fact, unless you can somehow translate morse code by listening to it and know the entire bible without checking it through, you'll -need- the internet, hell the game has a built in browser for just that purpose. Yes... the puzzles can be pretty indepth and demanding, not precisly what I myself am used to.
