I just don't see the point unless you're playing with people in the same room.

um, to be able to play it anytime..? Sure local play is fun, but their are many times were friends can't come over, so Multi online fits perfectly.

Multiplayer makes games worth paying $60 bucks for since single player content is usually only $20 worth.

I usually get a game for online.

Single Player/Campaign - 40%
Multiplay online - 60%

This can vary depending on the game though.

Aside from that, I love playing multiplayer.

Because I love playing video games with my boyfriend.
It's how we spend time together sometimes and I love it!

It depends on the game obviously, but when I buy a shooter these days I merely see it as a bonus if the campaign is any good at all. While I do grow tired of the multiplayer quickly as well, that's the primary attraction.

I have also been violently sucked into the world of Co-Operative multiplayer and MMO by some annoying friends. So yeah, I do enjoy multiplayer.

Annoying? Why, yes. Thank you for the compliment.

I get on well with anything cooperative, but competitive multiplayer (in particular with strangers) makes my skin crawl. And I don't like that. Skin crawling.
