Bahahahaha! I'm off to college in the States this fall, and R&P shall weep as I eradicate the last vestiges of irrationality from my being, and ascend to the same plane of existence as Matt_LRR.

As it is starting to be that time of year, is anyone else heading off to higher education this year? Stateside or otherwise? Do you have any idea of what your major(s) will be?

Cheerio!

Edit: For those of you past that, did you pursue higher education? Was it enjoyable? Improving?

I'll hopefully be heading somewhere in the Fall. I don't know where yet, but...somewhere. (I hope!)

There now. It's not that exciting, though I guess it would be more exciting if it were in a different country. I can only imagine how us Americans and our strange and exotic customs must seem to an outsider.[footnote]This is only somewhat sarcastic[/footnote]

I remember when I left for college. It was fantastic. College is great, too.

I'm currently a senior at my college, with a major in computer science and a job locked in with a pretty big name company. Life is good.

College isn't as fun as you might think it is. XD

I'm in my third year of college, so yes, I'm going to school.

Oh, ho! I do say that your American customs are most enigmatic in the eyes of other Western outsiders, mm-yes. You would be surprised how American culture has corrupted those of most European countries.[footnote]Counter-sarcasm![/footnote]

I graduated from college. Degrees are pretty cash. You should get one if you don't have one. Make more money, work jobs with more input and more creative aspects. I.E. better jobs.
'Twas told by previous generations, dat shit was so cash. Why am I bumping this thread, anyway?

I would tell you if I could, but I have absolutely no idea. Hahh. Good thing I don't have to decide immediately. \o/

I have not and probably will never go to college.
I dropped out of secondary school maybe two weeks into it when I got too sick to go anymore. Since then I have pretty much just sat around being sick and crippled and useless forever.

This would bother me a lot more if not for my pal here Mr. Whiskey.

What sickness ails you good sir? Pure curiosity on my part.
Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. You know. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Nothing interesting or fatal. Just constant pain and exhaustion.
Short version.

It is possible to do some university through long distance programs. I have before, and may do again (I have bipolar disorder, making regular face-to-face learning really hard).

In any case, the best of luck to you!

Higher Education, as in college? Nah, still only a Sophomore, pretty far from graduating... I am planning on going to a college to expand my opportunities for jobs though, however I'll very likely stay here in Hawaii where I have family and where it's not cold-as-f*ck during the winter... Plus, being Asian, I might want to avoid the crap I'll likely get elsewhere. The asian/caucasian ratio of people here are essentially the reverse of the mainland. Discrimination and crap; don't want to deal with it. (U HAOLES) And I really hope that that stupid "Asians are smart" stereotype, good or not, fades away. Although I typically have a higher IQ and smarts than the rest of my class (I only recently began noticing that my grammar and spelling skills as well as knowledge in general is better than others; I see at least 20 grammar/spelling errors in other's work, and I'm one of the few who actually pass most math tests fast and with ease), I'd much rather eliminate all stereotypes in general; the world would be a lot better, but hell will have most certainly frozen over 10 times before that happens, ever.

...

BUT WAIT, DON'T YOU PEOPLE LIVE IN GRASS SHACKS ON THE BEACH. YOU HAVE COLLEGES AND STUFF?!!?!?!?

Hell no and yes. We're civilized like the rest of ya, and we have all the things your society has. ;)
