So I have this thing, where nearly all of my friends pirate games; and I get berated for buying anything. I get the

"Why did you buy Bioshock?! You know they evil corps put DRM into it, and its not even got multiplayer! There's no point in buying it."

So do you get harassed by your pirate friends for buying games?

Do you argue with your pirate friends about their habit?
How does the conversation usually go?

Has anyone ever fallen out with a friend over the issue?

I'm more or less the only one of my friends who's interested in games that aren't Guitar Hero. So no, none of my friends are Pirate scumbags.

I still think that all pirates wear bandanas and have eyepatches though.
Even Somali ones.

They don't bug me about pirating stuff, because, I pirate stuff the right way. I dress up as one and yell "YARRRRR" as I see the download bar near 100%.

I've got some friends who're keen on pirating games, and I've downloaded a couple myself but in the end I prefer buying all of them. It makes me feel better, and enjoy games more. So that's basically what I tell them when they start arguing with me.

But then again, I've got this friend who just needs to complain about everything, especially games. So I've gotten used to it by now.

What do you mean, cost a whole lot?

Games like Legend of Mana that cost about $50 on Amazon or eBay. I won't spend $50+ on PS1 games or games that I have to buy an old system and the game.

Does it count as piracy if say I bought spore, but downloaded the pirated version? EA gets my money, and I get a DRM-free game, everyone wins... right?

And I have 1 friend who does, and he thinks he's cool for doing it.

Its good for homebrew, thats the reason I own one. (honest guv'ner)

I got laughed at because I bought Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, in retrospect I would have laughed aswell, the game is defiantly no RCT2.

My friends now are Xbox players though, so they expect me to buy games. Get more angry if I pirate because they had to pay.
