Poll: Social Networking

I have a natural hate for social networking since the goverment is already tracking over half the things i do ,i'd rather not have them tracking everything else i do (Like the guy who used his twitter to say that there was a stranger in his bathroom) and no i'm not paranoid just smarter then usual.

i thought it might make things a little more understandable to have a discussion about it
soooo.......

why do you do it ?
and what does it mean to you ?

i only use the escapist cause it's the escapist

I have a Facebook which I never use.
And I use Twitter to have mindless conversations.

Facebook. I use it to keep in touch, find people I have lost contact with, and find people with simular interest.

I like and use facebook. Comes in handy with having a few friends in the military and they are not in state or when fall comes and a few friends leave state for school. Only downfall to these social networks is people who you dont want to find you usually do and there the types who love to blog about how shitty there life is in there status or spam you with games or other bs.

Twitter, Aim, and Facebook for me. Twitter to talk to escapists (and talk about sandwiches), Aim to harass my roommate, and facebook to keep in touch with about 70% of the people I know in real life.
