I just got one for my desktop, i love it, was not worth the cost, but i love it, i was wondering what others on the escapist thought

Whats the speed increase on load times with a solid state compared to a standard drive?

I keep joking with dad about setting up a couple solid states up in a striped raid that would be pretty kick ass.

Right now, the speed increase isn't worth the price. The advantages of solid-state drives won't make themselves felt properly until they get into the affordable 500GB-plus zone.

Damn you, ninja! I was just about to gripe about SSD's capacity and cost. For a gamer (who would get the most benefit from massively reduced load times), there's not enough there to keep more than a few games installed.
