Every time somebody complains that "UUUUUUGH! [CHARACTER X] ISNT THERE ANYMORE ", somebody else complains that it looks the same as IV...

WTF do you people want?

Here is Xiba, yes, he does look terrible... but give it time, you might learn to like him, or any of the other 27 characters.

I originally was. I was going to pre-order it from Best Buy because I wanted Dampierre, but then something dawned on me.

"Why spend 60 bucks to get it new, when I could just spend 20 bucks when it inevitably drops in price, and then another 20 to buy some Microsoft Points to just buy the exclusive character when he inevitably becomes DLC?"

So I'm taking the "wait and buy" route. I do want the game, SC is one of the only fighting series I really like, but I'm in no rush to get it right away.

I'd rather save money.

I haven't heard anything about Seung Mina being kicked out. There's still at least six characters still unknown in the main roster, and I haven't heard any of the Korean characters beyond Hwang being refuted.

Most likely, and if Douchie Daishi stays on its gonna be my last. He;s pretty much killed the series and made it something its not, and the only real redeeming thing about the game is gonna be the character creation system. And even then, if they keep it the same way it was in the last game, then its going to be shit.

Probably not, I like Street Fighter better nowadays. If I'm picking it up I'll be maining Cassandra as usual, though, given that she's in the game.

There really needs to be a third "on the fence" option here. I LOVED the original Soul Calibur; it was one of the reasons I got a Dreamcast. Two and three did a lot of things right between them, although I was never as jazzed about either as I was about the first game. Four really disappointed me in a lot of ways, though. I've been kind of following V and from what I've seen so far it looks pretty impressive. It's cool that they timeskipped and are dedicated to bringing in new characters and taking the risk of not bringing back all the old characters. Fighting looks pretty solid, and the art design so far looks miles better than four's.

I figure what's probably going to happen is a friend of mine is going to get it, I'm going to play it and be like "I need to own this game," and then I'll end up getting it. But as of right now, I don't intend to purchase it at launch.

As far as characters go... I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited about Ezio. Hopefully he doesn't end up being as unbalanced as their guest characters tend to be. I'm also interested in the new double-ax-wielding Lizardman. Lizardman's always been a favorite of mine. I'll miss the shield, but I can imagine the kind of havoc he can wreak with two axes. And wings, apparently. I wonder if he'll actually be using those things in-game, or if they're just for show?

Also, I really, really, really, can't stand Natsu's design. Thankfully her player 2 costume isn't a sparkly tween diva ninja princess costume. God I f'n hate that design.

I'll probably be playing it with a 360 pad. I'll see how that goes.

I don't usually use a main but if I do, probably either Raphael or Viola.

The creation system looks to have been improved a lot so I'm looking forward to that quite a bit.

No. I love the series (it is the only fighting game series besides Smash Bros that I actually play), but I have no moneys at the moment (well, I do, but that money is going towards ME3), so purchasing it is out of the question.

I could buy it, I would probably main with Mistuguri and Siegfried, as per usual.

The way things are looking right now, absolutely not. If I do, it will be once the price has dropped drastically and if the character creator has the styles (and parts) of the characters they have decided to not bother bringing back.

who do you plan on making your main?
Mina, Talim and Setsuka. Oh wait, they aren't in the game. Well, Astaroth is always fun and Viola looks interesting.. but yeah...

are you looking forward to creating your own character?
If they have the styles and parts of characters that didn't make the cut. If not, I don't mind dressing up the existing characters, but it's still a poor substitute for a real character creator.

Hmm.. well, I'll just add that I wish the series went back to the way it used to be in the SC1/2 era with full deep movelists and less gimmicks. I have no problem with a fighting game developer opening up their titles for a less experienced crowd. In fact, I actually support that. What I don't support, however, is when the developer actually comes right out and admits that they've literally dumbed down the game and added gimmicks just to appeal to the less experienced (particularly when those chages actually hurt the game for the more experienced).

I know, I'm sorry. The worst part is that Kilik has had so much mystical crap going on (such as the Kali-Yuga) that they could say he didn't age and I'd totally believe it. Oh and, despite my love for Xiba (his fighting style successor), he's a "feral orphan" stereotype, so pretty much the opposite of Kilik.
