Would you rather own a dog who could speak English, or be someone who could speak dog?

A couple of notes on this highly intelligent and controversial subject matter:
*The dog who speaks English is intelligent (not like a parrot)
*Everyone, not just you, can hear the dog (a.k.a. you aren't crazy)

*If you can speak dog, all dogs can understand you (not just one)
*You speak in barks (and other people can hear that)

Also, sorry for "Poll: Poll:"

Own a human-speaking dog, for the sole reason that I could have a normal conversation with it while walking down the street and people would start to doubt their own sanity rather than my own.

that's the thing though: dogs don't just communicate by barking; they also communicate more by pheromones and scents. speaking dog wouldn't just be a case of barking at a dog until it would understand you; you would have to act like a dog too. you'd have to be sure that you could release the right scents at the right time in order to show what you mean to other dogs.

Well, let's assume that you can make up for those other types of communications via barking. We can call it... synonym.

I sort of thinking that having a dog who spoke English would be sweet so I can play "Sherman and Mr. Peabody" with him.

I'm going to assume if a dog could talk and had some form of intelligence there'd still be a culture gap.

Do you want your dog to talk about your old dates and standbys with your new SO?

I'd rather speak Dogalog.

neither; I doubt my dog's ability to have the intelligence to have an interesting conversation.

lmao, though as I said in an earlier post, I'm really thinking more of Mr. Peabody from Rocky and Bullwinkle. You know...a dog that can time travel and teach us about ancient cultures. Common stuff really....
