Poll: Speed knifing in MW2

On the rare occasion I do play (at the home of someone else,since I don't own the game myself) I use this combo. Not because I'm playing to win, by any stretch, but rather so I can hear people rage at me. It's hilarious. Actually I use all the "cheap" combos because it's just so much fun to hear all the "hardcore" players ***** and moan and rage. Also, seeing the message inbox fill with hate-mail makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Also, by playing with the objective of "how much hate-mail can I recieve", I arguably have more fun with the game than the average MW2 player.

It's not the most annoying tactic out there as it's pretty easily counter-able. And given, it's fun too, especially in Free-For-All on, say, Rust where everyone does it. Pure madness.

But then again I banned MW2 from my PS3, sure the speed knifing can get annoying but there are way worse balance issues out there.

It can be annoying, but frankly, if someone can run right up to you, caution to the wind and stick a knife in you that easily, you're fair game as far as I'm concerned.

Besides, I do it sometimes too. It's fun, and a good way to fight fire with fire if you've got a particularly annoying one in your game.

You know what I'm talking about. Those gamers who jump into a game, use an SMG with Marathon, Lightwieght and Commando, (possibly a Tactical Knife), and just run around knifing people. Me... I can't stand it. I wanna see what my fellow Escapists think.

I use the Scar with Slight of Hand, Stopping Power and Commando most of the time, that particular set up isn't good for large arena's but for close quarters such as Terminal, its an excellent set up to clear that plane of all campers.

A lot of times I've cleared the plane with a flashbang and doing that horrible teleport knife trick, I know its not nice but its so effective, and if I don't use it they will.

What I don't like is when my own team steal all four of my care packages, thats happened several times since I've been defending them from getting eaten by bullets.

The gayest thing to happen to gaming ever. It's just so fucking piss easy. It takes all the fun out of the game. Someone with marathon, lightweight, commando and a tack knife. It just ruins the game. One of the reasons I stopped playing. Teleporting speed freaks with knives that can reach you from across a room. You can shoot them when their about 12 feet away and they'll teleport into your fucking face and knife you.

Don't defend it saying it takes skill. Because I tried it. It's piss easy and take all of the freaking fun out of the game. That game is so broken it's not funny. The UMP needs nerfing too.

Yea that's about the lamest excuse I've ever heard. I already told you that when I tried speed knifing I cleaned up. It's a broken game aspect. That makes noobs like you think they're like super mega awesome because they can knife 7 people in as many seconds.

Players like them and I assume you, is why MW2 is noob central. And believe me... I'm not bad at the game.

first of all juxtaposition is a valid way to make a point. Have you ever heard of an oxymoron? when two words that mean opposing things sit next to each other to contrast a point? Well I guess not. Now the kicker. Here's where all of this could easily have been avoided. All that anger you are releasing there to a person of suspicious intention could have been guided at someone on whom it would actually have an effect.

How does using only the overpowered weapons make the game more fun?

Perhaps they should stop looking at the power of a weapon and look at the weapon itself. What's good where? Where is the F2000 more useful than a Scar?

People don't know because they've never used the damn thing. They use the default UMP45 class until they unlock the Scar and call it a day.

By the way: No gun in that game is useless. No gun is underpowered. Only overpowered.

If you're sticking to the overpowered weapons, you're playing for the wrong reasons.

Well, it's hard to compete against overpowered builds with builds less powered. I try to play to have fun with my friends, and we all use overpowered builds. Is there anything wrong with playing with a "cheaper" or "overpowered" weapon, if it becomes available for general use? It's not cheating, or hacking, it's just adapting. Was the Greek phalanx overpowered? Was Hitler's Blitzkrieg overpowered? No, they're just better tactics and strategies.

If the Scar, UMP45, Intervention and Barrett were the only available weapons in the game, people would bitching about poor selection. We have all these weapons available and no one uses them because they're all too busy using the run-of-the-mill cookie-cut classes that everyone else uses.

Is there anything wrong with using cheap setups? Yes, or it wouldn't be considered cheap.

Being forced to use the same thing as everyone else because you don't stand a chance without it isn't adapting, it's sad. It isn't a tactic. It isn't a strategy. It's ruining a game that, despite its flaws, could have been much better than it is now, thanks to all those people that can't pick up a weapon that requires the slightest bit of skill to use.

My friend showed me something really annoying its marathon, light weight, commando on the class and make ur kill streak crate drop switch to it but don't use it you run fast also knife people.

I really don't like it not because its noobie its just ive had a match and the other team were just running around knifing and its so gay when my claymore's don't work cuz they can run right past em and knife. But i ended up setting in a corner with a Scrambler Stopping power Scavenger with a AA 12 extended mags and that helped alot.

Hehe, I'm noobie, I actually use the n00b tube as people call it. I'm not the type to panic and hit "nade" button though, I use it on maps like Afghan to get the required trajectory to kill camping snipers.

I find that the minute my radar gets jammed I hit the melee button to get a cheap kill, I know its not nice but neither is camping since I'm a runner, and I'll admit I find it annoying to run into claymores.

I was one of the first, and the one to popularize it the most.
SETUP: Mini-uzi;thermal Magnam;TAC-KNIFE and throwing knife
I remember when the models were used...

It's easy to counter with equipment, headphones and a fast trigger finger.

Equipment:

Throwing knife them while they lunge.
C4 and Claymores
Stun grenades. Also Flash, but not as useful.

Headphones:

Most runners will use Commando for the lunge. They won't have Ninja and you will hear them coming as they will be using marathon. Plug in some headphones to your TV and get listening and determine where they are.

Lastly, fire first.


It's like a snipers. You don't counter a sniper by sniping back. You get them out of the comfort zone.

I have never been ANTI-Thrown as a runner, I'm fast enough to run past Clays,
but you never expect one have have tactics other then face up do you?
