With The Force Unleashed looking like the latest disappointing Star Wars game, I'd like to know what people think is the best Star Wars game to date. The poll has games grouped into series because there aren't enough options in a poll to cover all the Star Wars games.

If we're talking the series as a whole, Jedi Knight. KOTOR were great, but they were a bit generic D&D sometimes. The feeling of tossing people around with the force was much more enjoyable in JK.

All the ones I have played are jokes... Admittedly though I haven't (but want to) play Knights of the Old Republic

KoToR is now and will continue to forever be the greatest star wars series ever. Don't get me wrong, Jedi Knight and battlefront are infinitely fun, but KoToR just tops them all.

Without a doubt battlefront.

Epic, fun and awesome. And nothing beats taking out your sniper rifle and singlehandedly making Kamino a living hell.

although I voted for "dark forces jedi knight series" the best starwars game will always be "x-wing vs tie fighter".

I take Jedi Knight II over KOTOR just because the beginning of KOTOR feels like a chore to me now. Outcast is still fun even before you get your lightsaber. Once you get your lightsaber and force powers back, the game is just unbelievably awesome.

I have to say KotOR since that's the only series I've actually played more than 1 game of.
But when I played a SW game, I liked it.(rogue squadron for N64, some RTS for the pc, battlefront at a friend's house) But as long as a game isn't too serious I will like it.

Is the PC version of KOTOR different from the Xbox one? Cause from what I've seen on the Xbox, gameplay just looked terribad. Sorry, but I'm an action junkie: when I'll play strategy I'll go RTS or something. Just sick of Final Poké-fantasy games.
KotOR isn't a fast paced game.
You give a few orders, check if those give the desired result, if they don't you pause the action, give new orders and allow the d20 system to do it's work.(hopefuly in your favour)
But once you get Master Flurry or Force Storm it no longer matters because you add 4 Flurry/Storm commands and the enemy drops dead after a few seconds.

Had to choose Battlefront.
I played a little of KOTOR and found it fun, but it didn't really grip me like the (somewhat) grand-scale battles of Battlefront.

Apart from KOTOR, Jedi Power Battles, although from the demo of S:TFU it seems to be a lot like that game.

EDIT: I confess Pod racer was also good fun on the 64.

I enjoyed Battlefront. But felt 1 didn't have good enough vehicle play whilst 2 somehow broke the infantry. Overall I don't think either was as good multiplayer as BF:Modern Combat.

KoToR is an epic, amazing game. The only problem I have with it is that, take the Star wars name off the box and there is very little to associate it with the Star Wars universe, it's not really connected to any canon so I can't have my fanboy nerd moments. I realise the game centres around Jedi/Sith war but really they could be any generic light/dark factions.

X wing-Tie Fighter series is best. Good gameplay, set in the right time period and full of uber-nerd moments.

What I don't understand is why the graphics are better on XBox 360 than PS3. Any clues?
Its relative to the different hardware in the xbox and ps3, for straigh up graphics rendering the xbox 360 is superior due to its more advance graphics cards, the ps3 however has a more processing power and will produce better visuals with higher resoloution/higher proccess demanding games (expect better physics, ai etc)

I'm gunna have to vote at jedi knight series, because really, playing multiplayer and force grabbing people into lightsabers/off ledges just never ceases to be awsome.

X-wing / Tie Fighter series hands down. It's a shame most of the people here are probably not old enough to either remember it or have played either. I spent many an hour chasing around X-wings in a Tie Interceptor, making bombing runs on Star Destroyers and so on.

Dark Forces/Jedi Knight would be second and then KOTOR.

1) Jedi Knight
2) KotOR
3) X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter/ X-Wing Alliance
4) Battlefront, ship to ship fights were epic
5) Rogue Squadron
6) Pod Racer

Ahh! Nothing to chose between the top 4, and pc Rogue Squadron 1 was great! Who says there are no good Star Wars games?

I'd choose KoTOR first, then X-Wing/TIE-Fighter. Then Jedi Knight.

Star wars supremacy ace game i still play now, particularly multiplayer nothing like thinking you've defeated the empire, and are just mopping to jump into endor find a massive imperial fleet with a death star than then proceeds to go on a rampage. though the Xwing and Kotor games are close second.

Jedi Outcast/Academy hands down. I tried top play Dark Forces but it hasn't stood the test of time very well, fun for the story (both lore and game wise) but outdated.

I can honestly say I have played Jedi Academy upside down, inside out, good side, evil side, hard, easy, medium, piss easy, one lightsaber, two lightsabers, kickass Darth Maul lightsaber, any bloody way possible and It still doesn't get old. Think about it, the lightsabr is both esthetically and functionally the ultimate weapon, it offers intense close combat without crippling you in range combined with force powers it is a very simple but still awesome way to kick ass. Jedi Academy puts it to the max, there is everything you want in a Star Wars game, sure the story sucks (speaking mainly of Jedi Academy, Jedi Knight/Outcast was alright, but haven't played them as much) but the awesome gameplay makes up for it twofold. Only bad thing was that the light/dark side choise came in so late and so obviously.

KotoR was great, but not because it was Star Wars. I see it as a completely different game, even though set in the Star Wars universe it didn't feel like Star Wars, it didn't milk off the movies, it stood awesome by itself. Too bad the story went from brilliant to messy in the second one

Battlefront is an awesome concept but it's crippled by an awful multiplayer community, maybe it is just me (never liked FPS communities at large)but almost all servers played the same map and were packed with germans who refused to speak English. And singleplayer is not that fun :( Still, it makes a good LAN game if your i play with fellow Star Wars geeks.

Podracer was actually kind of fun, underrated in my opinion.

The X-Wing/Tie Fighter series are my favourite, they're pretty good games and I grew up with them. They're the first PC games I ever played. Since I was around 6 at the time I was obviously not very good at it, but I still loved it. X-Wing Alliance is one of my favourite games of all time.

The only other Star Wars game that comes close is Knights of the Old Republic. The story was great, the action was repetitive but for some reason never got old, and the final level was decently challenging. The only issue I have with the series (and what prevents it from being my favourite) is the second one. It was rushed, the ending was terrible, all the other characters except for Kreia, Mira, Hanharr, and G0T0 mysteriously disappear, and the enemies didn't really give you a sense of malice or urgancy like the first one did. You also kill them all off within moments of each other, again making the ending seem rushed. It had its moments, but they were few and far between.
