Greetings and hello to The escapist community.
I happened to pass by and noticed a lack of constructive star craft 2 beta and battle net 2.0 threads. This means that a part of what considers itself a gaming community are not yet informed of what to expect from this game at release.
A brief summary of the shit storm going on at the site Teamliquid.net is in order to fill you inn on what its brood war community and iccup laddering people as well as people who have invested time into the sc2 beta talk about is in order.

Indeed its true at its release star craft 2 will not have:
Chat channels, LAN, you wont be able to get nor create a guild. The custom map, modding community has been shafted because you cannot create custom games a la wc3, people wont even know you have created one until you start inviting people, and without chat channels people will resort to IRC channels and second hand forums.
And to top of this expositional onslaught there will be no cross realm play, A REGION LOCKED RTS, where nobody knows who is the best because the ladder system thinks everyone are special and places you in bucket leagues with around 50 players each.
But we are still buying it arent we ? THE GAME IS GREAT, but its currently being violated by the beast that is BNET 2.0. I dont want this game to turn into something akin to modern warfare 2. Where everyone buys it and once it has taken a year its a deserted dry humped desert. Broodwars community has lasted over 10 years, if this stays unchanged, even with the expansions. Broodwar will outlast it.
You get the absurd notion right? A GAME WAS MADE in the 19th century and it stands to OUTLAST ITS sequel because of terrible, terrible flaws.
A minor request for us to Be Heard
Instead of just posting in a forum thread and being washed away, make sure Blizzard knows how you feel. Here are a variety of ways to get in touch and also get the word out. Make sure to be polite and express your thoughts. If this public outcry does not work, a boycott may have to be organized.

- Chat channels
- Cross region play
- No LAN, even after Battle.net validation
- League system
- Clan system
- Bnet 2.0 in general
