When Starcraft II came out, I was instantly addicted, I played constantly and so did most of my friends, we all had a blast battling each other and playing cooperative mode together. Now that college has started, we get on for maybe an hour or two every other day, the problem is, I keep missing my friends, I always get on a little bit after one of my friends gets off.

I don't like the game nearly as much without my friends to play it with, so I'm forced to every so often log onto Starcraft II just to check if one of them is on, and if they're not, I log off and leave, it's really annoying and rarely pays off.

I think there should be an optional text alert system for Starcraft II that texts you when one of your friends (or you could list just a few friends for it to text you for) comes online.

I know this sounds ridiculous, but it would be really helpful, a lot of the time one of my friends is playing Starcraft II, and I'd love to play it with them, but I'm on my xbox and don't know they're online. I think if Blizzard made a damn Auction House App, they should make this.

Our current system is texting each other when any of us gets on, and then if one of us is available and wants to join, they log on too, not only is it annoying to text each other when we get on, we often forget.

Before one of you accuses me of being absolutely addicted to Starcraft, I should point out I only play about 5 hours a week, I just enjoy playing online with my friends, and text alerts could help me know when their on so I could make the most out of the time I spend playing.

I see what you're getting at, but think of how many useless texts you would get about someone signing on when you're unable to play, along with the drain it would be on your SMS monthly limit(if you don't have one, never mind). It'd probably be a lot easier for you guys to just try to figure out the best time for everyone to play, rather than getting docked 10cents each time a person signs on.

We all have unlimited data, it's a pretty common thing to have now in the US

The thing is we all have such flexible schedules.

I'm not sure if this is advertising or something, but.... http://www.xfire.com/ Online chat service that... is, well pretty awesome. And it works in tons of games. Just log in when you get on your computer, and you can talk to your buds and find out when they're in a game.
