Poll: Starter Poke'mon

When I used to play pokemon games, I would always choose fire.

It Depends on The Version to be Honest I always liked charmander for blue/red , Chikorita for gold/silver and mudkip for ruby/saphaire (mudkip kicked ass cause he was water/ground making him immune to electricity)

I don't choose a specific type, just who I like. So far, my first choice starters have been split between fire and grass Pokemon between all four generations.

i never liked him; the turtle seemed more appealing.
the final evo for "chimchar" looks like something from teenage mutant ninja turtles.

I would always pick the fire stater.....but my first game was Yellow. So it goes: Pikachu...Cyndaquil...Torchic...but then Chimchar failed. It's a FLAMING MONKEY.

So I picked Piplup. Hrm. Steel penguin beats flaming monkey anyday. So yeah, my overall choice is Fire though.

I always chose fire up until diamond, when I decided "why not try something new?" and picked grass. I regretted it as soon as I had beaten the rock gym & there was no more use for the stupid turtle.

Silver/Gold - Totodile
Ruby/Sapphire - so i herd u liek mudkipz?
Diamond/Pearl - Never played'em, but I saw some of the Pokemon, and I'd choose the penguin looking one because penguins are epic.

My one friend always picks Mudkip, names it Mudkipz, and never evolves it

I do the same thing! And I name my other Pokemon: "so" "i" "herd" "u" "liek"

I liked the pokemon games with only the first 151 of em.
& Charizard is my favourite in the list...so I'll go with fire type

Well, I like to mix it up sometimes, but I generally prefer Fire. A lot of people probably ignore them because the first gym is always Rock, and Water and Grass make it a walk in the park...but the Fire-types, even though they don't grow as fast, damn. Charizard is a beast, a mothertrucking BEAST once you get him up high enough.

With the exception of Cyndaquil and depending on my mood, Mudkip, I'll always choose grass types. They usually have really good defense and move sets. Plus the other Sinnoh starters end up pretty fugly looking.

It depends on the pokemon in question. If it is Squirtle vs. Charmander vs. Bulbasaur, then I vote Charmander(even if brock IS the first gym leader). However, if its between Cyndaquil, totodile and chikorita, I will always choose totodile.

In the original games I picked the Grass Pokemon, but in the later games it was always Water. Though I always had a soft spot for Torchic.

Indeed, there have been no started pokemon nearly as awesome as Tododile since his creation.

Squirtle. Mother fucking Squirtle would kick Tododile's ass any day.

While I hate the Pokemon anime with the burning hatred of a thousand suns, I actually liked some of the games. The few I did play, I tended to choose Fire.

Dunno why, but I always go with the water one. If I play it over, I switch to fire. I have never ever had a grass starter.
