Also guys I don't think we really need to worry about being offensive. The statement stereotype implies that it is just general opinion or iconic of the state, yea some are bad but they're funny cause they are all based off someone. and I happen to know for a fact that texans either have a gun, Dog (large), or truck or all three. lol

I'm British and, after seeing Top Gear go to Texas all of the Texas stereotypes were just backed up. It really does seem like a state full of Creationist Christians driving pickup trucks and carrying shotguns everywhere. I'll be honest, Texas scares me a little bit

I thought that episode of Top Gear went through Florida, Alabama (there is the scary state) and Louisana?

I like England because we've always punched way above our weight in everything, we're a tiny nation that used to rule the world, has produced the best bands ever and some of the greatest literature ever. We also more or less kickstarted the industrial revolution and, in an admittedly limited capacity, we were forerunners of modern democracy and civil liberties.

Unfortunately, modern times aren't so illustrious.

okay okay texas football has had a terrible year, and unlike the rest of the states we can't wait for around for hockey or basketball, even when we do good we don't care lol. Thank God for TCU (pun semi intended and semi unavoidable) Too bad for the BCS BS can't wait for the playoffs.

On a side note I have been against the BCS ever since they would've sent Hawaii to take on the Trojans in '07

oh did we menntion Texans don't know how to drive in city? I mean seriously we have like four and a half that count (Huston, Dallas, San Antonio, Fort Wroth, and arlington counting as the half.) and In none of these citys do people know how to drive (San Antonio being a reasonable exception)

I'm from Canada. When I think of Texas, I think of cowboys, guns and love for the death penalty. This is probably horribly misinformed, but that's what happens when you live across the continent.

What do I think people think of Canada? We live in igloos and guzzle maple syrup. Also horribly misinformed.

The Canadian stereotype is that you wake up in the morning, eat nothing but maple syrup for breakfast, leave your igloo to go play hockey. Very few people actually believe that, it's more like a joke.

I live in California, and I guess it's okay here. There is a huuuuuge hatred for the southern states, however.

I suspect our stereotype involves hippies, liberals, drugs, and movie stars.

If not for Rooster Teeth, my stereotypes about Texas would probably all stem from Sandy from SpongeBob - a fetish for barbecue and an unnaturally absurd accent. As it stands, though, I'm not so quick to judge anymore.
New Joisian here. All my stereotypes either involve being a spaghetti-slurping Mafioso, or someone on the cast of Jersey Shore whose mom is someone from Real Housewives.

I like in California and I like it for the most part. I wouldn't want to move anywhere else. But I really hate this state's damn gun laws. And there is a HUGE liberal bias where I live. Nothing wrong with that, but some of them are just so up in your face.

I like Georgia, a really good variety of everything. We have beaches, mountains, rural areas, big cities, if you can think of it, we probably have a little of it.

OT: Whenever Im told to think about Texas.... I can't help but think of the stereotypical, everyone owns a gun, horse, and cowboy boots and kills a queer every Friday XD

I live in Minnesota, when I was a kid I really didn't care too much about it, but through University and everything, I really like this State a lot more than I used to. Cities like Minneapolis, where I'm from are are ranked highly in quality of life, literacy, cleanliness and job opportunities/strong middle class. That and it's usually pretty quiet with relatively low crime- plus we have a budding underground music scene, great restaurants and a lot more famous/well-known bands pass through here than you would think. The price you pay is a Hell of Winter, which we're going through now ): The summer is nice and makes up for it, thankfully.

That and some of our politicians give us a bad image on the national scale- looking at you, Bachmann- you daft ****.

But MPLS and Minnesota as a whole kicks ass- the stereotypical Fargo accent isn't that prevalent, also. I'm full on-Swedish, and I dont speak that ridiculous way, the older generations of my family, though...
