I've been to Texas once and it seemed mostly normal except from the FREAKING HEAT! Seriously, I live close to New England and I think my state is ok, but for crying out loud I don't want to go back to Texas if it's usually that hot.
What part of Texas did you visit?

Because...yea....even in the colder places like the Pan Handle it can get pretty hot.

Living here in Southeast Texas we git insane weather.
Literally it can go from Sunny and cold to Thunder Storms and 80+ Heat with Humidity within the same day.
Within several hours.

I live in a small town in Texas. Many of my friends are conservative but most are liberal, not just liberal but gay as well. Several of them have ranches too. I hate stereotypes. But if you insist...we do have the best BBQ in the world and some of the best wines, to boot. For the most part, I find people nice and friendly, sometimes a bit religious and not anymore than anyone else I have met from different states. We have atheist too(remember her, moved to and died in) On Thursday nights it's fun to go down to the local wine bar and sit among my socialist, liberal, Bush loving, gay, religious and atheist friends and listen to the conversations. One thing most Texans have in common is that we all love to have a good time. Remember, Texas gave the world Neiman Marcus, Lone Star Beer and Luckenbach...just for starters.
