So recently I drug all my dad's old comics down from the attic sorted them and then put them back after picking some out to read for myself. Now my favorite super hero is Remy LeBeau aka. 'Gambit' form the X-men. My dad's favorite is Wolverine (which is easy to tell since he has every monthly Wolverine from 1-153 without missing one). So I was just wondering who the other escapists out there liked?

Also as a side not there were a multitude of Marvel and Chaos comics as compared to the sparse number of DC so as a side thing Marvel, DC, Chaos or other and why? (hence the poll)

For me my favorite company is actually Chaos cause the stories always seem so interesting even though Marvel owns my favorite super hero.

NOTE: I like manga too but I'm more interested in American style comics right now so if we could stick to that I'd be much obliged.

.....Awkward....

OT: Deadpool is the greatest comic "hero" to exist. Therefore Marvel wins.
Yes Deadpool is first for comedy. and I would count him as a hero. And how is it awkward he had literally over 3000 of them all stored away in boxes and I wasn't about to sort them in the crazy hot attic with no A/C. Not when I'm capable of relocating.

I have to go with DC.

Marvel makes better movies, sure, but I find a lot of their titles to actually be pretty lackluster, especially where massive events are concerned. Plus the fact that they actually wrote a Spider-Man comic where he trades his marriage to SATAN is unforgivable. I don't care how many years its been!

DC comics can make some blunders too, obviously, but I feel that they overall make pretty good use of their second string heroes and can pull off some pretty awesome storytelling. Plus they have Batman.

DC has always had my heart, simply because of JLA (I worship the animated version of Hawkgirl, shut up). Dark Horse, however, has a lot going for it. And somewhere I have the two issues of Trigun that they published.

Manga is my top love, but DC <3

I have no preference; as long as the hero's are cool, the villains aren't lame and someone responsible for the stories has some creativity/commonsense it is cool with me. Again, like the console wars, I have no loyalties.

Whoever entertains me the most at the moment wins.

The only American comics I ever liked were Spider-Man and The Maxx. So Marvel and Image, I guess.

I originally thought I'd go for DC. I loved the Flash, and thought Green Lantern was boss. Then I found Superman. That ruined it all. I started to look at Marvel, as per my fathers suggestion, and found Thor. Thor is now my all time favorite super hero. Also, Deadpool. No other comic company can create a character to compete with Deadpool. Also Hulk, Spiderman, Captain America, The Avengers, Dare Devil, Fantastic Four, Black Panther, and many others are just prime examples of why Marvel is clearly my favorite.

......Although Marvel does sadly have Wolverine. For that....I am saddened.

I have to go on a bit of a rant here.

Im fine with superheros and all, but why cant we honor the real life heros?

The police officer that puts his life on the line to help people he doesent even know.

The fire fighter that runs into a burning building to save a family's dog

The doctor that stops the bleeding for a car crash victom

even the man at the food bank that helps families in need eat a good meal.

Im all for super heros and waht not, but i just needed to get that off my chest, sorry fokes.

No super heroes for me, I like comics, but they have to have substance, I read somewhere that anything that runs for longer than a thousand pages is just mental-wankery.

Edit: with its obvious exceptions, I need to add
