The fact Ike is not only CLOSE to metaknight in this poll, but beating him makes me lose faith in the community of this forum.

...
Seriously?

I say Wolf, anyone who has attacks that can span across huge chunks of the map, while the damage radius is infront AND behind him is OP.

I don't know how Toon Link could be overpowered. He's my favorite character because he's fast, although his moves themselves are rather weak. If you can combo his moves then he's really good but if you don't know how to do that then he's pretty crappy.

For some reason nearlly all the Fire Emblem characters are over powered in all the SSB games. Ike's attacks are overpowered, Marth is deadly if mastered and Roy was insanely overpowered in Melle being the only character who could one hit kill with the charge-up fire blade attack.

Still I'd still say Snake was the most overpowered (and overused) charcater in Brawl.

well, this is interesting.

people seem to be complaining about ike and meta knight, and yet i have never had any issues with them. and i have 2 friends who use them a lot.

i tend to go as either pit, pikachu, zero suit samus, peach, lucas, or the ice climbers.

i win with quite a high consistency rate, considering i don't actually have the game, just the previous version.

i have to go with pit. he is very fast, and near impossible to kill... to me, he is the closest thing that there is to the fox from the previous game (now there was an overpowered character).

I thought Jigglypuff and Captain Falcon were higher than that. Also, why are Wario and King Dedede so high? And if Sonic and Ike are so cheap, then why are they average? That makes no sense.

Well this is all just from Smash wiki, which is apperently made of tournament people, or just passing along info or something, but here are the reasons they give:

Wario - ranks 3rd on the tier list due to his heavy weight, great horizontal directional influence, small size, great recovery, approach game, amazing air game/mobility, unpredictability, great matchups, very low amount of weaknesses and his amazing Wario Waft KO move

Dedede - ranked 6th on the Tier List due to his amazing chaingrab and powerful throws combined with amazing grab range, ability to Sacrifice KO, great edge guarder, greatest resistance to vertical KOs (a combination of being the fourth heaviest character and having the fastest falling speed in the game), great range, good recovery for his weight class, and a few quick, hard hitting attacks

Ike - ranked 28th on the tier list due to his extremely sluggish moves (giving a result of over-reliance on opponent mistakes to gain kills), very punishable moves making him very easy to shut down, and predictable recovery, resulting in poor matchups

Sonic - placed 23rd on the Brawl tier list due to his excellent speed, good follow up ability, and being unpredictable. However, his low priority, lack of reliable finishing moves, and few advantageous matchups puts him in the C tier

I would say Pit or Sonic, Pit because he can't ever fall down and sonic due to his Final smash, my main problem is that most new characters are more powerful because they seemed to have weakened most of the returning characters.

When I'm Pikachu, almost nothing can stop me. I won against 3 level 9 opponents (3 stock). With only 1 stock and heavy damage, but a win nonetheless.

Although....Snake hits hard if you use him right, and his recovery is very abusable. Ike is just the 'noob' character, if you will, heavy hitter usable by almost anyone.

Mr. Game and Watch is also very dangerous. In fact, most of the characters in the game are deadly if you use them right.

Although I suppose I'm straying off-topic.....the most OP character in the game, in my honest opinion, would have to be Ike.

KIRBY is the worst in the hands of a strong player. My brother always swallows my character, jumps of the edge, and flys back up leaving my character to pathetically fall half-digested to their deaths. Just can`t win against that one.

To me Sonic isn't overpowered, but his Final Smash is.

My complaint is how they Crippled Link in this game, Seriously I've had my Final Smash outright Stopped/blocked multiple times right after I activate it. Besides the Final Smash, I'm pretty sure they slowed him down considerably and the one thing that pisses me off is how he pauses for a moment after each attack he makes, in a game where split reaction timing is key this is unacceptable .

Granted I had only played Super Smash on the N64 beforehand and Link was my ace player, but in Brawl he just feels so unfamiliar, I hear Melee is closer to the original and actually plays better, should I get it?

WTF Link is a F tier character and why is Diddy Kong a S rank? This shit makes no damn sense

(sorry double post)
diddy is my favourite char, link is pretty terrible, i thought game and watch would be higher tho

I find Snake to be the most annoying character. My brother almost always gets the final smash ball and kills me up to 2 times. It's hard to dodge and too fucking long.

I mostly play as Zero Suit Samus or Kirby.

Tiers are bullshit. They mean nothing but that people can't play well with them.

Some characters may be HARDER to learn then others but none are "crap" or "overpowered".

In the right hands, everyone can pwn.

Most of the comments in this thread are just ridiculous. Hardly anyone here understands the game at all. At least someone was wise enough to get the tier list and read from the wiki. In the competitive SSBB scene, MK and Snake are without a doubt the most overpowered characters in the game.

I can only hope that Nintendo makes some sort of attempt to balance the next smash bros. game, the imbalance in Brawl is just too much.

@GamingAwesome1
I hope that post is a joke or you're trolling.

Hah, the competitive SSBB scene, I had no idea that was still going. I have to agree with you though, most people apparently think the word 'tier' means how much a character is used, or how easy it is to pick up.

Yeah, this is ridiculous. If two equally skilled players face off, one of them uses MK, the other uses Bowser, the MK player is most likely going to win because it's simply a better character, because of its vastly superior moveset.

Though the tier list on page 3 doesn't really make sense, I'll give you that.

ALRIGHT. AFTER READING SOME OF THIS CRAP i HAD to make an account just to post.
FIRST OF ALL: in the poll for the most OP character, "IKE" is the most OP??? BS! and why is king dedede even up there, when SNAKE is not???? I agree with metanight, but snake is right behind him. i can see how wolf MIGHT be slightly op because of his over A smash attack, but IKE? i mean ike can be a beast with the right player, but really? and why is sonic up there? i could only think of his final smash, (it is rigged), but you shouldnt even take final smashes into account because nintendo really screwd up there if they wanted real players to use them, of course there gonna be imbalanced, i mean look at DK and jigglylpuffs (yeah i know there not bad sometimes on a small stage), but wow really. yeah but they need to fix snake and metanight
