When do you use swear words? Do you use swear words? With which swear words do you draw the line?

Or are you against swearing, and dislike even hearing simple swear words? Why are you offended? Etc.etc.etc.

Discuss!

I swear all the fucking time (hopefully I'm the first to make that joke). Its pretty natural to me, and I get annoyed by people easily insulted by it.

Edit: Yes! (pumps arm in victory)

Honestly, I'm of the opinion that 'swear' words are words that people attach meaning to. The words themselves don't hurt anyone. In fact, some 'swear' words have been compliments and still are in some places.

I'm a teenager, take a guess how often I swear.

Its too often to be homest, I've been trying to stop myself a bit recently... It does seem to be working... You bunch of f***'s...

I dont take offence to it anymore... Except for Cu**, that one still pisses me off to no end.

While playing video games and when I'm driving, just an irresistible urge to scream at either my TV or other drivers.

Im not offended by swear words. I do use them for emphasis though. I remember i made a thread a while ago on another forum exactly like this.

It ended up something like this.

"Swearing is socially more and more acceptable, But in public places and social occasions controlling swears words is important, And when you dont your considered stupid for not thinking of a better word"

I probably swear too often, but it depends on the company. I stop swearing when in inappropriate company.

I swear for emphasis, by habit, when I'm angry, happy, many situations.

I use swearing to discribe something that I dont like, or when something bad happens.

Imo, if I see someone swearing alot I fail to take what they say seriously. I also believe that people who swears alot have a lacking vocabulary.

I also try to keep swearing to a minimum infront of kids.
My line (for some reason) goes with norwegian swear words, I NEVER swear on norwegian unless quoting someone.

I swear way more than I'm willing to admit. Though I will try to keep my writing clear of them. Swears are really a spur of the moment thing for emphasis.

I swear quite a lot, but I tone it down (or up) depending on the situation. But this is because after all they're just words. Nothing to get offended by unless it's a racist slur then there's some reasoning and history there. But for standard swears like crap, arse, wank, shit, bollocks, fuck and **** there's no reason whatsoever to get offended.
Especially for ****, it's much less sexist than vagina. Which was Latin for scabbard (sword sheath) and sword in Latin shared a word for penis. So essentially it means a place to put a penis.

All the time, and way too much. I always try to behave myself, and I always fail. It's fuck this and fuck that, all the time with me.

I swear a bit. More in English than in my mother tongue. I blame motherfucking Hollywood. With that said, I see nothing wrong with swearing, by itself. Sure, some people are sensitive to it. I try to respect that when talking to them. And yes, too much swearing, and the point is lost; it's like emphasizing. Every. Word. You. Speak.

I don't swear when talking to my parents, they've raised me and put up with my shit so they deserve a little better than that, but any other time I'm a swearaholic.

I wish there was a Multiple options choice, because I do it for emphasis AND when I'm angry (I'm usually annoyed at the same time, so yeah.)

I only really swear for emphasis, and I do A LOT of emphasising.

Though 'shit' is pretty much the swiss army knife of words. It can mean anything and everything at the same time.

Depends on the time and place obviously, but whenever it's socially acceptable, mainly with friends, I swear almost constantly. It pisses me off when people take offence; after all, they are just words, and unless directed against someone then there's nothing wrong with it.

And the argument that swearing demonstrates a limited vocabulary is ridiculous, principally because there are NO words in the English language that are an appropriate substitute for a proper curse. Yes, you could say "oh, sugar" if you hurt yourself/somehting goes wrong. And consequently look like a twat.

EDIT: And I don't draw the line at any swear words, since to me they are all just words. That said, there are some I use with greater frequency than others, and it seems to vary; sometimes I might say bollocks quite a bit for a couple of months, then there are periods when I won't say it at all, and use others words instead.
