Umm... I don't really care. It's annoying when some sound is missing, but whatever. I wonder how long the longest bleep out is, though. Hmmm....

Oh yeah it is. Swearing isn't funny, but bleeped out swearing is. Especially if bleeps are very, very long.

Depends.

"Go *beep* yourself. Beep beep beep beep..."

Those beeps after the *beep* are actual beeps. Futurama.

Only on occasion, not if every word is constantly bleeped out. The swear words episode on Spongebob was quite funny, and the Poker Night episode from Apocalypse Lane.

There was a South Park one where the bleep was funny, think it's in a song, but I can't remember which.

But not if it's always bleeped, that irritates the hell out of me, more so when (it seems to be just America that does this) they don't bleep "ass" but they bleep "hole".

Oh and if ***** is a swear that's pathetic (again seems to be America with different versions of what's acceptable, but I swear ***** is acceptable daytime TV)

If the swearing is used in context then it is extremely annoying because it breaks up the sentence. If it is done for comedy effect (Watch Apocalypse Lane's 'Poker Night' episode) then it can make it a lot funnier.

I'd say when they have a silence when the person swears rather than a 'beep' it is even more annoying, and it gets even more idiotic when they bleep the word but not enough, so you can still make out what the word is; it completely gets rid of the point.

I find it very funny when characters go on really long rants that are almost all bleeps with just a few really random words thrown in that aren't.

When it's bleeped out for comedic effect, like in that episode of Family Guy, then it's bloody hilarious.

"You know, you're lucky you're good at (bleep) my (bleep) or I'd never put up with you. You know what I'm talking about, when you (bleep) a lubed up (bleep) of toothpaste in my (bleep) while you (bleep) on a cherry (bleep) Episcopalian (bleep) extension cord (bleep) wetness (bleep) with a parking ticket. That is the best."

I feel like when I watch comedians on TV they're a lot less funny when bleeped, but if it's intentionally done in a comedy series it's funny. Basically it's only funny if the creator meant it to be like that.

Yes, somehow bleeped swearing is funnier than normal swearing.

Especially when used like this...

You *bleep*, *bleep* that *bleep* your *bleep* for *bleep*, *bleep* *bleep* *bleeeeeeeeeep*.

I've always thought that sudden strange noise interrupting the curse word was funnier than the actual word being said.

that actual order may be the most used one, note the last longer bleeeeeeeeeeeep.

Asking this is like asking if comic relief always is a good idea.

If censoring is consistent with the humour of the rest of the show, it works. Probably in a few other occasions too.

I have no preference in this question, I do have a preference on the type of shows I like though. Usually that means uncensored, or maybe that's because I live in a place that don't make a habit of it.

there should be a sometimes option. Because movies that do bleep it out its like BLLEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!! then its funny. But when its just like You Mother Bleep Bleep hole then its not funny at all.
