I wouldnt call it propoganda considering that is real, my cousin had its and she said its wastn all that bad, same as the regular flu in her case. The issues is that theyre afried its may mutate and actully cause some real troubel for the population. Becuase its not seasonal its basiclly has the whole year the cross exchange genes mutiply and muate, and and ther is the chance that the virus coudl gain and immunity to the vaccine.ExaltedK9 said:Just a short thread/question. Based on what you know, do you think that swine flu is really something to be worried about? I've heard from a couple of people that it isn't very different that the better-known flu. I've had swine flu, and while it wasn't "fun" it wasn't really all that bad. I just think it propaganda, and is meant to scare people. I think it's just a scam like global-warming, and is meant to be profited from.
So what do you, the escapists, have to say about it?
You didn't happen to play Pandemic II by any chance?MaxTheReaper said:Man, Swine Flu is going to wipe us all out (excluding Madagascar), just like Bird Flu did.
I think that the wars helped A LOT. It's easier to get infected in a hospital where hundreds of wounded or dying people are lying around. Also, funny thing about the wounds - they are like small door for the diseases to come and stay for a while.AnGeL.SLayer said:Umm, Do you guys recall the Spanish flu in history? Its the same strain, N1H1. The problem is that with the abilty to spread so easily it means that it could easily mutate or pick up another protein that could make it even more fatal. With the spanish flu it started out EXACTLY like this. Came in the spring, well thats clearly odd for a flu...Then around flu season it hit people like a ton of bricks. Competely healthy adults where dropping in the street after getting the virus only hours earlier. We are learning about it in my microbiology class. The threat is there, we just need to see if the virus is going to take its chance to become something more.
