Did you ever switch to a new console or game of the same genre and have trouble adjusting to the controls. I find that going from Call of Duty to Killzone can be hard for a few minutes.

I switch pretty easily. First I played Rayman games with keyboard + mouse, then a joystick (...yeah), then after 3 months of no play I tried again, too hard, then keyboard + mouse, then gamepad, then keyboard + mouse, and finished with gamepad.

Same goes for Jade Empire. I think I wouldn't want to play it again with keyboard + mouse. Gamepad is good for that. Or Devil May Cry. Assassin's Creed, however, is much better on a 2000 dpi mouse.

Oh, and it took me merely 30 minutes to switch from Mouse aim to a Xbox 360 gamepad aiming in Army of Two. Which is strange, because I couldn't do the same in Gears of War.

Well after I played Fallout 3 for a long time I kept trying to quick save in TF2.

And no matter how many times I play STALKER I can never stop trying to crouch jump in it.

Depends how much I've been playing the previous game and how much I've played previously on the game I'm switching to. Some things its second nature for me. Its only really tough with similar games or games of the same genre.

Yes. Most recently, when I got Saints Row 2 but was still playing GTA4 as well. It was horribly frustrating to be using the two control schemes for all the same actions. I ended up changing some of the SR2 controls to be more similar to GTA4's. Still, it's an interesting experience.

Yes, after playing like a weeks worth of Left 4 Dead it took me about a day to figure out the Gears 2 controls :p

whenever I play a friends Xbox and the game says "press X to...whatever" I always press A. I own a PS3 and the X is where the A is. But my friends do the same thing when playing my PS3 so it's all good.

Playing Manhunt confuses the fuck out of me. The right analogue is not your friend in that particular game.

There's a massive collection of examples <url=http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DamnYouMuscleMemory>here, if you're interested.

For my part, it takes me a few seconds to adjust between most game consoles/games. What really gets me are arcade games. Nothing like playing Guilty Gear and trying to use Homing Cancel, or Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and trying to roll forward...
