So far most people who managed to get a hand of SWTOR from the last E3 onwards have never felt the need for a KOTOR 3. I imagine that's only going to become more pronounced after this year's E3.

Personally, I'm anxious for TOR to come out. I enjoy MMO's, and this one looks awesome so far. I'm definitely picking it up, and I don't expect to be disappointed (famous last words).

That being said, I would have much rather seen KotOR 3; just to wrap things up with the previous two games. Namely, what happened with Revan and the Exile. I'm sure they're going to touch on these things in TOR in some way, but for the sake of those who don't want to get caught up in a MMO, I wish they would have stuck with a single-player game.

I'm looking forward to SWTOR a bit more than I would have KOTOR 3. Sure I would have loved another KOTOR game, but at the same time it's nice to see them mix it up a bit. Like Stilt-Man said before me, they will probably make some connection to Revan and the Exile through the game.

I would love KOTOR 3 just because i won't be able to afford the mmo's monthly fee. They always got to put in the monthly fee....

I would prefer KOTOR 3 mainly because they really had good narratives which is something mmorpgs aren't know for in conveying one in any compelling way. With that in mind Bioware has acknowledged this,i think there good developers and with EA 's pockets i am definitely willing to play SWTOR when it finally comes.

Question, how much do you think this game is going to cost they already announced full voice acting im saaying bout hundred fifty mill.

Yay, my vote broke the 4/4 tie!... for now >_>

Gee whiz, do I want a game with a genuinely structured story and carefully planned out plot elements leading to a climax as epic as destroying the Death Star? Or do I want long time sinks, grinding, countless hours of fetch quests, instances with shoddy pugs, griefing, and a monthly subscription fee? That's a tough one...

...Jawas are the new murlocs.
"Hail Jedi! in order to complete the first part of the eight part key you'll need to open the portal to the Lair of Sarlacc, you must first go into the outer deserts of Tatooine and collect 20 Jawa eyes and 8 Bantha horns."

I'd rather eat a heaping bowl of thumbtacks.

I don't like MMOs in general mainly because of the recurring fee. At the moment I am playing DDO because of the free factor. I don't play with people either and actively try to avoid it. This is all me though. I know many people would rather play the MMO.

But I am a solo style gamer and I would have much rather seen a third KOTOR.

Fuck KotOR 3. Remake KotOR 2 and get it right this time, then update KotOR 1 (or the reverse). Maybe once that gets done, make KotOR 3.

Have you read anything about how ToR is being developed? The whole point is that its centered around plot and story....

In all honesty though; I would prefer both.

Yeah, I've also heard those big fat promises, and I defy anyone to tell me how a structured game and an MMO are not mutually exclusive. It's simply not possible. They need cash, they need ways to generate cash, so hype at first, pad it all out, and sell it as if it were bigger than it really is.

I'm not saying they aren't doing it, I'm saying that it's paradoxical. An MMO with a proper story that isn't padded with junk quests, and a good old-fashioned story driven role playing game cannot co-exist without one overtaking the other, and we both know where the money is.

In closing, I fold my arms and scowl with stubborn defiance at their illogical claims. I'd almost swear Peter Molyneux was behind this if I didn't know better.

I just want a console one. MMO's ARE possible on consoles. PSU was fine technically...it just lacked...stuff. Felt bare. But whatever. If a single player game is what Id have to have, fine.

Have you read anything about how ToR is being marketed? Or how people will exaggerate and sometimes even outright lie to get you to buy their product?

In all honesty though, I hope this stupid mmo bites them in the financial ass so hard they never try anything like it again. Unfortunately however, it will probably be a success.

I don't think its a matter of them needing to co exist its about redefining the genre, mmo worlds in my opinion have ridiculous interactive possibilities.Personally i prefer my single player experience due to my fear and disgust of socializing with other people but even if SWTOR doesn't accomplish the immersion of a well told story eventually time and new technology will open up more and more doors for developers.

I'm in the same boat, friend.

I dislike MMORPGs and loved both Knights games. So it's a pretty easy voting decision for me. However, I will say that I wish The Old Republic and Bioware the very best, because it seems that they are trying something new with the genre.
