I thought about it, but... I'm a blood donor.

And in Australia you can't give blood for a year after geting a tattoo, for fear of infections.

And... well, I like giving blood. It's the most charitable thing I do. I'm poor, so I got no money, so I give what I do have. Blood.

Ah well, maybe I'll get a tattoo one day when I'm barred from blood donation for another reason...

I have 'em. Bones tattooed onto my feet (which hurt like a *****, incidentally), and the Old English rune given to mean "protection" or "security" on the underside of both my wrists. Obviously, I don't have a problem with them. So long as they've been thought over carefully and planned out, my view is do what you like with your own body.

I want the Kai Shu for Happiness on my right shoulder

And the Kai Shu for Peace on my left shoulder.

And the Kai Shu for Love on my back.

And the Kai Shus for Tolerance and Loyalty on my right arm.
Tolerance
Loyalty

And the Kai Shus for Faith and Compassion on my left arm.
Faith
Compassion.

Yeah, that's it.
Watch those Characters, I used to accommodate Exchange students for my local University, going into town one day a woman walks past the exchange student and myself. The students starts giggling, i asked her what was so funny, she said that the tattoo of the Japanese Character on her shoulder was for "Strawberry" and clearly marked under the character was "Strength"
I went and made sure these are the right ones. My aunt and her friend are in China right now, and I sent them an email asking for some Characters, and they sent me this whole thing they found.

My feeling on tattoos are;

Get something that means something to you. Something you won't regret down the line. Don't get it because it looks cool. Take your time and get something that has true meaning in your life. I've waited 6 years to find something that meant enough to me to get it put on my body for the rest of my life.
I would definitely agree with this. When I got mine I also put a lot of thought into where it would go. For me it was important that I be able to cover it up when I wanted, and that it wouldn't be in a place where it would be hugely affected by weight gained or lost. So my tattoo is along my spine, in the small of my back. High enough to be completely covered by my shirt, because anything lower and you start veering into tramp stamp territory.

Can I ask where you found that symbol, and if means anything. It's really pretty. As for where...hmmm...perhaps on your upper back, between your shoulder blades. I guess it depends on how big you want it.

You sir, are a smart man. I'm glad that someone is actually willing to throughly research foreign characters before they're put on your body forever.

I designed my tattoo, it's pretty simple. I designed it as a logo for a website I was working on and have... since... forgotten the password to, but I'm keeping the logo for my online portfolio. Kinda like a signature, I guess.

It's in the center of my back. I figure, fail or not, it's a good reminder. Of what I'm capable of.

Oh yeah, mirror this. That's what's on my back. The tattoo artist got the drawing backwards, partly because he asked if that was the way I wanted it and I didn't remember which way it was supposed to be.

I want a laurel wreath tattooed around my right wrist, with the words 'Imperator' underneath.

Because of some shit I got over a few years ago. And I'm a student of Roman history. So, yeah.
Gotta love classics related tattoos. I'm getting the owl from the drachma and ancient Greek (which is the language I study). I have a couple of scripts in mind, but it will take me a while to be sure of which one really fits.

I already have 2 tattoos and would love some more

I think it was from browsing photobucket since that is how I get most of my images. It doesn't mean anything in particular, but means something to me spiritually and encompasses a few important ideals I hold. I was thinking calf, and with a bit of altering the image the detail should hold. If not, back it is.

I was promised a poll, dammit!

I have no intention of getting a tattoo - I don't like the idea of deliberately permanently changing my body in a way I may regret later[footnote]Unless someone manages to find a way to make me 4 inches taller. Then I'm there![/footnote]. Others are entitled to do what they will, it's just not for me.
I did originally set it up as a poll... don't know what happened though >.>

I started with 2 dice "im not scared" written between them. In reference to a game me and a load of guys used to play when i wsa in the airforce, i then got some tribal to go round it as it looked a little small on its own. The tribal being the only tattoo i'm not sure about. Then i got a panther to go with the tribal, a design i've liked for about a decade.
My plan was never to get anything below a low t-shirt line so it could be covered. Then i nearly died in a motorbike crash and since decided to hell with it, i wanted a sleeve. It is quite surprising i'm still alive to be able to even consider not getting the tattoo i wanted. So my thoughts are this: You have one life, one chance. Live it, take it.
The future will forever echo with the sounds of our past, i'd rather make 100 wrong choices knowing i did what i thought was best at the time as opposed to not making any choice at all and waiting for something better which may just never come along.

On a side note it surprises me how many people on here are still waiting to be old enough to get a tattoo, not that i'm saying you shouldn't wait, but the average age of the escapists users surprises me i guess

I'm not against Tattoos but I would only ge tone if it had true sentimental value to me. Not just for fun, it would have to mean something to me and be there as a reminder.
