I would like to get a Tattoo of the 'Kill me here' symbol on all the Colossi in Shadow of the Colossus on my left shoulder. I'll find a picture...

I don't have any myself, and I don't plan on getting any, but I'm cool with other people getting them so long as they actually mean something. If I ever do, it would have to be for a very special purpose, and one that when I'm 112 I'll still be proud as hell to have.

Dudes just getting, say, a tribal tat because it looks cool makes me facepalm. Ink is an art, and when you get ink for ink's sake, it degrades the art.

I don't have one and I am quite against them now, but that doesn't mean that neither of those two statements will change. If I find something that's so important to me and will always be as important that I am willing to undergo mutilating my body to have a constant reminder of it then I will probably get that tattoo. But nothing is even close to warrant said mutilation.

Don't have one. Don't really want one.
I don't mind other people having it. Unless it's a non-Asian guy with Chinese writing; that just looks stupid. Especially when I can read it and it makes no sense. Though there was one exception. A guy in my university, studying Comp Sci. He's about 175 cm tall, weighed approx 55 kg, looks like your stereotypical virgin nerd, and he's got a tattoo on his back that translates into "Stud". That was pretty hilarious.
But his girlfriend is quite hot. She's also in the same program as me (BSc honours physics) and is cruising through with godly GPA. So there might be some truth to that tattoo.

EDIT: They need to invent some kind of ink that only show up under certain conditions. I want a tattoo on the back of my left hand that says "/Facepalm", and have it only show up when I facepalm.

Nope. Have nothing against them. It's just not my thing.

I do love to look at them though. I used to be addicted to Miami and LA Ink. Some tattoos are simply amazing to look at.

I had to stop watching those shows though, when they became more about the drama and less about the tattoos.

Haha only person who voted yes (as of when I voted).

It's my mom's family crest on the back of my right calf. Kinda cool, not just some random dragon or monster or something lame like that, actually meaningful.

As long as they're not jokes I like them fine. Also neck tattoos, and star tattoos, basically generic tattoos are lame, cool people get cool tattoos.

I will most likely be getting the phrase "We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope." tattooed on my upper back.

edit-

oh, and probably this image on the back of my left shoulder:

I have no desire to get a tattoo, But if i was FORCED to get one, i'd have "instructions to ambulance: Sow it back on and put me back on the motorbike" across my shoulders.

Or Insanum, Just above my Left nipple, Like a Nametag.

Although before Soupy reminds everyone, i HATE needles. So i'd only get one if i was forced & Unconcious.

If people want to go about mutilating their bodies, well that's their business. I'll be keeping my skin intact though.

http://ugliesttattoos.com has made me really hesitant about getting one.

But I'm thisclose to getting a phoenix, once I get around to drawing one that I'm completely happy with.

I've got two - a Gemini symbol at the top of my spine and a butterfly on the front of my right shoulder. Both of these are very important and meaningful to me, so I didn't just get them on a whim, nor do I believe that I will ever regret them.

Most people judge me rather quickly and harshly when I tell them I got my Gemini tattoo at the age of sixteen, but both of my parents are tattooed and I had wanted the same tattoo since I was twelve, so my mother signed for it. I love it because I know that I can change my name, what I look like, etc, but my personality at heart will stay the same (and that is entirely dependent on the fact that I believe in astrology).

My butterfly is actually an exact copy of my grandmother's butterfly tattoo. She got the tattoo about twenty-five years ago before it was common for women to have tattoos. Turns out that years later, her original tattooist's wife works with my grandfather and they had never made the connection. When my grandmother was diagnosed with the final stage of lung and lymph-node cancer, my aunt and I both got her tattoo done on ourselves by the guy that did my grandmothers those twenty-five years ago. My aunt also got my grandmother's handwriting saying "I love you. - Mom" underneath hers as well, and now that my grandmother has passed, I'm planning on getting a small halo over the antennae.

Yes, I am planning to get more, but most of my ideas for tattoos come and go. The ones that stick are the ones you should get. There shouldn't be any rush on something that costly and more so, something that permanent. Think before you ink. <3

I totally understand this, and I was incredibly fortunately to grow up around people who are tattooed all over. One of the first lessons you learn is to screen your tattooist. Don't just walk into a shop and point to their Flash work (usually the stuff seen on the walls) and get it done. I'm also sure you probably know this since you want to draw your own design. However, it's just as important to make sure the tattoo artist can draw it as well or even see if they have anything they might suggest changing about it. Even though most tattoos are basically traced on these days, it's the artistic skill behind it that makes a tattoo any good.

Also, that site is terrifying and reinforces my point when I tell people to screen their tattooist. Yikes!

I don't have a tattoo, nor do I plan on getting one, but I like them nonetheless.
