Poll: Terran, Protoss, or Zerg?

I've never played the original Starcraft but after reading through many of the previews and watching some Korean Starcraft matches with English commentary I'm now really excited for Starcraft 2. So being a potential noob I feel I should focus on only one race. The Terran seem like the most easily accessable race for a C&C player like myself(although I'm not a very good one), the Zerg are appealing because I like to have SWARMS of units as well as setting up ambushes, and the Protoss units seem to have better return on each unit made due to their shields.
So does anyone have any recommendations?

EDIT:I'm asking for everyone's opinions based on their experiences playing the original Starcraft

Terran all the way, then Protoss if I have no choice, and then quitting the game.

And well...the Zerg are cheap and annoying.

Well if you have never played before I would recomend focusing on the Terran because they are pretty much the easiest race to use, though the protoss are very powerful. So I would at least start with Terran and when u feel comfortable with the game try something else.

This thread is pointless, none of us played the game. You'll decide once you finish single player campaigns.

All the sides are balanced, which is how it's such a well-selling RTS even to this day. There really is no best race, since each one has its flaws and advantages over the other. Though Terran is the easiest to start off with, but just play the single player campaigns in the order it suggests and the controls will come naturally over time. The race you find the most fun or you find you do the best in should be you choice then for online play.

For me, I like Terran. I cannot get the hang of Protoss, and I am not fast enough for Zerg. So I spent my time learning Terran and their tactics for Fastest games.

The big problem with Starcraft, imho, is that all the battles are either rush and/or attrition. It's another one of those micro-management games that looks lovely, seems to be balanced well but always ends in RUN, RUN, RUN, WAVE OF TANKS.
Either that or some psychic master of the CPS. (Clicks per second)

As Yahtzee said, it's a well executed, pretty and absorbing kick in the balls, but you're still left walking funny.(Not about this...but guess which game ;))

I still love the voices though.

I didn't play Starcraft that much but I still think that the Terrans are the best by far...they're just cool.

I liked Terran best in the original, mainly because Ghosts are awsome and they can launch nuclear strikes. And I had a small tank fetish back then.

I never really got into Protoss, but Zerg rushing was fun.

I do like terran because of 4 reasons,
Seige mode on the tank,
Ghosts nuke strike
Can see anywhere on the map,
Yamato gun, very useful for blowing up plyons and other transports

I'm currently playing through the game again (almost as we speak) and I have made it through about half of the protoss campaign (already having played terran and zerg) and I'll get into the expansion after that. I never played Starcraft online, but I am very much looking forward to the online play for Starcraft 2.

For me, I actually think I would play a different class online than my favorite class in campaign. My reasons for this is generally during the campaign the strategy is different; you have to start of with minimal units, build up a base, and crack through an already established enemy base. Thus, it often pays to turtle for a bit while building a balanced (and large) siege force. But I can't imagine using that strategy in online play, because the game would be long and I imagine most players could easily break my turtle before I could make my massive force.

What does all that boil down to? Protoss are my favorite class in campaign, because carriers are the coolest unit I have ever seen in an RTS (though not the most overpowered: For that see C&C generals zero hour, combat chinooks loaded with rocket launchers and snipers.) But I'm not overly impressed with the rest of Protoss (reminder, SC1 for now) and it would take too many resources to get a good carrier force out quickly enough online, so I would probably stick with Terran. (Never liked the unit build structure of zerg)

Well I happen to adore my inevitable 200+ zergling army... thing, however Terran is the most friendly for new people.
