The poll says it all; do you like or agree with valves decision to include content for purchase?
There are several news posts with info on this update ,that was just released today, still up, but basically valve has made an in game store that you can use real money to buy weapons and a few other goodies like hats and item color changes for your TF2 characters.

note: most items that you can buy are available in game via a drop and craft system; so they are "selling convenience not an advantage", the items that can only be bought are for cosmetic affect only any way and may be able to find so...

The microtransactions are a way for people to get items without having to put hundreds of hours into the game. You can still get all the items through random drops. It doesn't negatively affect gameplay. You don't need to buy anything to stay competitive.

That being said, with some of the items costing as much or more than the actual game, I think Valve kind of left the "micro" part out of micro-transaction.

Either way, doesn't bother me much, since you don't need to buy anything to still play. Plus they'll be nerfing the hell out of stuff withing the next few weeks. So yeah, that awesome item you bought now may be the shittiest one within the next few days.

No problem with it, some people will use it, some people won't, paying sure beats idling.

Can you buy a halo?

It's cool I guess... but one of the hats costs $17!

Who would pay $17 for an in game hat when you could find it for free? You could use that money to save a dolphin or something...
