The Razorback has a shock apparently that either slows or stops the spy, perfect opportunity to get a free shot with either the Machine gun or the sniper. Not exactly sporting, but neither is backstabbing while I'm trying to snipe damn it!

TL;DR It's real and useful for real snipers.
It doesn't shock nor slows the spy, it puts the knife on a cooldown, so it can't be used again inmediately.
Eh, whatever. Still useful for stopping the only useful weapon a spy has. However, I often play the spy and am wondering. What kind of idiot would backstab a sniper after seeing that he is wearing the razorback?
That's the point. It makes a great visual "NO BACKSTABBY!!!!" message to spies. Only a complete retard would backstab a sniper wearing this on his back, so it's more of a deterrent than actual protection.

The knife has cooldown when used agaisnt the Razorback.

Maybe if the shield zapped the spy and his gadgets would stop working and knife cooldown. But theres still The Ambassador.

The Razorback probably has another bonus probably concearning the 3rd unlockable.

Or not...
Now THAT... would be simply awesome.

Or possibly a sign that says, "shoot him in the head with your pistol because his HP is low and the knife wont work."

How much more powerful do you guys think the Ambassador is in order to justify the lower shoot rate?
No. Read the damn thing. It's not more powerful... It's more accurate, i.e. actually goes where you point it as opposed to flying off somewhere behind you unless you're at point blank range.

doesn't it say it packs so much heat it needs to cool down?

implies its more powerful, and accurate. The downside being its slow to fire the second shot.

I think its kinda useless...it makes the knife unuseable for a while...but what stops the spy from just switching to a revolver or the Ambassador and shooting him in the face?
That sentry gun that always tends to cover snipers?
If youre going to ask "Why not go for sentry?", it's because sometimes taking the sniper down is far more valuable and good engineers are extremely hard to kill.

Is the revolver inaccurate? How much so? How much more powerful do you guys think the Ambassador is in order to justify the lower shoot rate?
Shooting with revolver is something like sniping people while driving a car. To be honest I think that Ambassador will be a sniper revolver with slight-to-none damage bonus and hefty cooldown. It's mostly a matter of style but 95% of the time youre better off with knives and if you fail and have to go for revolver, the inaccuracy doesn't matter because youre likely to be very close to your opponent. Cloak and Daggers on the other hand... :)

I main sniper and I'm very good at it. (http://gameserver.fpsbanana.com/stats/hlstats.php?mode=playerinfo&player=21172) I posted my stats just to show I'm legit :p. I can actually see myself using the razorback as long as it replaces the SMG. Custom crosshairs make noscoping close spies easy as hell, so I rarely use the smg anymore anyway. And if you're getting enough headshots, the kukri crits all the time. However, the Razorback MUST be able to be "fixed" by going back to the supply cabinet. If you have to die for it to work again, then it's going to be worthless.

yes, because there's a spy achievement with the razorback
which one? I dont see it
Die another way, you see a broken shield and the sniper
mmmm.... don't get it. So... an achievement for stabbing him to death after breaking the shield and giving him a chance to kill you instead of plain shooting him. Seems like a pretty moronic thing to try in order to get an achievement but yeah (Giving him a picture of the heavy boasting after killing WHILE ubered was dumb as well)
It definitely seems that way. Damn you just destroyed my thread T-T

The achievement will surely be: kill a sniper (surely with the gun) after you broke his razorback shield (wich will surely happen often since the shield wont be visible)

The Razorback will be nerfed spectacularly I bet. It just sounds so perfect right now for snipers, and a TON of them will go with it: Spies will suffer as a result. Long gone will be the haydays of the spy: when one could stab in the back with joy.

"It has the ammo count of a revolver and the pinpoint accuracy of a sniper rifle, even at long range. (But remember, a gun that packs this much heat needs to cool off between shots, so make every shot count.)"

"a gun that packs this much heat needs to cool off between shots"

"this much "

That's implicit of the statement above, i.e. "It has the ammo count of a revolver and the pinpoint accuracy of a sniper rifle, even at long range."

Nothing about extra damage...

The only possibility of "extra damage" could be a lack of damage drop off.

Yea I think its real, and as for the drawback of using it once. You now have an inventory that can carry 50 weapons/items...I am pretty sure it wasnt just added for decoration...

Put two wheels on this thing and is a cannon, seems to imply bigger damage.

I play the 360 version, so I get new weapons during the summer, but, I think It will be real, but not be a good weapon. As ou said, the kakuri is so much better, and as a player who likes to play as spy, I don't go for the snipers that much. I usually only go spy for heavies or engies
