Poll: That basket/box

You know what I'm talking about; that vessel that's been placed somewhere visible, possibly at eye-level, that stuff just piles up in. Important papers, yesterday's day-by-day calender entry, movie ticket stubs, loose change, pens, pencils... anything that doesn't belong somewhere else ends up here.

It's the place you go to when you can't find your checkbook, or when you're trying to find that old M:TG deck. It could be one, or several. Maybe even a closet-full of them.

Personally, I have several boxes, and most contain stuff that I either don't really need or haven't used/played with in a long time, but just don't want to part with. Old Power Ranger action figures, my school report from 5th grade on why farts smell bad, random game posters that I can't get rid of because God knows I'll feel stupid when I go online and find out they're worth 90$ someday in the far-off future because of an industrial fire in there or something crazy like that. Mostly, I use them for storage, but occasionally, just for kicks, I like to peek back on what was.

There's also the kitchen basket, which keeps all sorts of small stuff and random crap that shows up without any explanation, or even needing any. There's movie ticket stubs in there from when I was a kid... though that wasn't long ago, it still seems like a long time

Movie ticket stubs, arena concert stubs, barroom band stubs, etc.

I like to collect stubs. That way, no one can say "You so were NOT at Van Halen's show in Salem, Oregon in 2008!"

 

[Space Spoons]

Power cords/AC adapters for more electronics than I ever knew I had, a couple of alan wrenches, several old batteries, countless busted and/or spare video game controllers and a broken tripod for what I assume must have been a very small video gamera, or perhaps a webcam.

It's basically become my own little electronics store.

...Blackmail photographs, file tabs on people I've met, phone numbers for those same people, and a large yellow-papered notpad with the words: CHEESE, ICE CREAM, ROOT BEER written on it.

I actually have a fish bowl or two filled with a nice assortment of things. Not to mention the 4-6 jars filled with many types of pens/markers/brushes. Oddly enough I have fuzzy handcuffs and a red leather whip sitting on top of the one fish bowl lol that is a whole new story.

I've got airplane parts, a few tickets, an old model I made, a love note from a sophomore year girlfriend, the subsequent break up note that followed two weeks later, an old blocks game and pokemon cards in mine.

Don't judge me, I held that because she broke my little high school heart at the time and never got around to clearing out the box
