So, the Oscars have just ended, and the greatest people in movies have been celebrated.
Slumdog Millionaire really swept it up tonight. It was surprisingly affecting to see them win so many awards; I actually felt genuine happiness whenever Slumdog got an Oscar.
I also have to give props to my birthplace, Japan, for winning 2 Oscars! One for best animated short, one for best foreign film. The "domo arigato, Mr. Roboto" line was great.
Of course, Ledger won for Best Supporting, which was no surprise. Odd, though, that they should have his grieving family accept the award.
Overall, this year's Oscars were pretty good. I thought Hugh Jackman did a fine job as host, and I liked how previous Oscar winners would present the nominees for the Actor awards.
So...thoughts?
