Ahh, I'm disappointed to see my cake coming in joint last (at the moment... just you wait). The Victoria Sponge is the mother of all cakes! Not only because it's great and versatile but the cake mix tastes nicer than the finished thing! So if I ever decide to make one and frankly, that's a rare occasion I always end up eating most of it raw!

Come to think of it. I'm not sure how much good all those raw eggs will do me... :|

Double chocolate fudge cake, carrot cake, angel cake, battenburg and, ahem, fruitcake are my favourites. And basically anything that combines fruit, sponge and cream. I wish Gateau counted as a cake (does it?) then i could mention that, oh i just did.
