So I don't understand the whole console war thing and the devotion that people show one console over another. I myself only own a 360 but I understand that the Ps3 dose cretin things better then the 360. one of them is that it reads blue ray witch means that its games don't have to have three or four disc to play them. but the 360 is better in other aspects then the Ps3. what the 360 dose is it has better online support then the Ps3. and honestly do people think that the game company's care there are only a small amount of platform septic titles for each platform anyway. so dose it really matter witch one you have.

Some people just feel that one gaming platform is superior to another, and when that viewpoint is challenged, they will defend to the death the honor of their chosen system. It's cognitive dissonance too, in some people, I think. "Maybe this person has a point" just revolts them so they fight that much harder against it. Plus, I mean... we get into greater uproars over smaller shit.
I have a ps3.... and a xbox 360.... I love them both... and there is a console called a Wii. It has fans. Some people love it.
There's only two things that matter to me in what console I prefer.
1.The games
2.What do my friends play on

PC definitely! While consoles are running on 7-year-old hardware, PCs are still the place to find innovation in graphics and games! On top of Heroes of Stalingrad and other great PC exclusives coming out soon, PC users can get mods for games and make mods themselves ... or complete new games, even ... on a PC.
Also, it is highly impractical to play RTS games on a gamepad. That's why we PC users have Total War: Shogun 2 (It will always be Shogun 2: Total War in my heart).
And let's not also forget that you have the widest range of games you can play on the PC. Sure, the Wii can play old NES games, but that's it. I can play XCOM: Ufo Defense, Jagged Alliance and many other classic games made and published by different companies!

Is there really still a console war? I mean, I'm sure people have a preference and all but I find it hard to believe there's anyone still seriously arguing hardware and pouring over release schedules to see what games they can brag are exclusive to "their" system.

Why wasn't the Wii included? Sales wise especially, the only thing beating it is it's love child, the DS, so it seems like you'd need a concious effort to ignore the thing.
Why is this subject still being brought up? It always ends up in people getting silly and pointless arguments and flaming happens alot.

I like my ps3 though. Really for the most part it's because many of my friends/relatives have one and they are the people i want to play games with. Beyond that I can't say it's that much better/different than an Xbox360.
Though LA Noire was only one one disc for it.

I voted PS3.
I've always been a console gamer and always on the various incarnations of the playstation. I don't necessarily think there's a big difference between the current gen consoles, but I like the fact that I can use it for watching Blu-Ray films as well, and I've always been fonder of the PS controller.
Still bothers me that Mass Effect isn't out for the PS3 though.
