I've never heard of Toph or Rainbow Dash, so I assume they must be some sort of anime cartoon. Annnd, since I'd rather pour bleach in my eyes than watch 90% of existing anime. . .

Freakazoid, I've heard of, ( and what I've heard is that it was awesome) but again, I haven't actually seen it.

Felix the Cat and Samarai Jack are good choices for inclusion on the list, but I didn't vote for them.

Darkwing Duck was good, but not good enough.

So, I voted for the original rabbit of Awesome- Bugs Bunny.

On a side note, the list has three spots open if you discard whatever Toph and Rainbow Dash were, as well as Darkwing Duck. The cartoons deserving of those spots would be Pinky and the Brain ( Realizing that they are two characters, but they are virtually never apart so I think it's fair to consider them as one) , The Tick, and Tex Avery.

Other considerations should have gone to Ren & Stimpy, The Warner Bros and Dot, Batman the Animated Series, and a whole slew of newer cartoon characters including most of Family Guy, The Simpsons, Venture Bros, Harvey Birdman, Space Ghost, Aqua Teen, and as I've been told, but not seen- Archer.

In short, fan of cartons that I am, I find the idea that two cartoons are included on the list that I've never even heard of, is telling of an uninspired list.

The saving grace is Bugs Bunny, who should be on everyones list of awesome fictional characters, let alone just cartoons.

P.S. I know that I've left some great cartoons out of my shoutouts, but the point was to establish a core group of classic and new, that outdistance the list, rather than specifically mention every great cartoon character.

Bugs Bunny for sure. The old ones like Looney Tunes or Tom & Jerry have always been my favourites. Sure they condone violence but they're still awesome. The episode with Bugs, Daffy and Elmer never get old

Its funny really, you can guess peoples ages by their choices, we all have cartoon characters that we grew up thinking were "the coolest" for one reason or another. But when you grew up truly determines the nostalgia you will have, and for what character. For example, I doubt there are a lot of people over 35 who would pick Toph, why? because Avatar was on Nickelodeon after they had already left high school, and their cartoon nostalgia years were ( and still are) behind them at that point. And then people under 35 ( possibly older) for the most part have never even heard of Felix the cat.....(there will be exceptions of course). For my part I chose Bugs, because I grew up watching Looney Tunes on weekends. ( though Id have said that Road Runner was cooler than bugs)

plus Road Runner is the only cartoon character in history that had EVERY word she said censored

Meep Meep!!!

I...I..can't choose! AARGH!

Ok, fine, I guess I will have to go with Furball from Tiny Toons, and Chilly Willy is a close second.

I used to have a plushie of him and now I can't find it. :(
Awwww, he...doesn't look at all like Sylvester.
Yeah, but who cares, Furball is the shit! Plus he doesn't talk so no spitting on people when he wants to say something.

Fred from Scooby Doo. Not only does he have the greatest name, he's big with the ladies.

Samurai Jack is so cool, he made a 2 minute long scene of nothing tense and interesting. why was his show ever canceled
The guy who voiced aku died, and they ended it out of "respect."

Darkwing Duck vs. Rainbow Dash...

..you realise that's mans greatest dilemma, right?

I hope you're happy.

*sigh* Naturally, at least one of the ponies is on the list. Don't get me wrong, I love My Little Pony as much as the next 24 year old man, but do you really think Rainbow Dash deserves a spot on the list, when there are sooooo many great cartoon characters to list?

Like Twilight Sparkle.

Seriously, though: King Louie.
"And old King Louie, Bopidy Bam, Bobby Doo! That's me!"

Second Choice would be Scat-cat, from Aristocats.
"Craaaazy."

I was personally a big fan of Professor Membrane. He was a genius and a very busy guy, but he also tried to be a father too.

Not now son, I'm making... TOAST!

He fuels my own mad scientists ambitions nicely.
