Poll: The Escapist and Guilds.

Do you think the Escapist could use a guild-system? And I don't mean the admin-made group system. I mean a user-built, goofy-names-with-puns-in-the-tile, chatgroup-esque places for people to hang out? I've seen them on other sites, and they work surprisingly well, and help build tight-knit communities in those guilds. A downside would, I guess, be the occasional guildwars that break out.

Anyways: Do you think people should start making guilds/chatgroups?

I don't think so. There's no reason to. The close-knit thing usually ends up turning into a bunch of cliques, and it segregates the population from one another. Then you always end up with "Oh, you're from Guild X, your opinion doesn't matter because your guild sucks"

I don't know, I've seen these guilds work well together.
Yeah, sure, you get some exclusion, but most of the time, it works to bring people together. Much more than the Escapist is now, anyways.
