If you guys just heard the news, there is now a teaser for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2. Starkiller, the Secret Apprentice to Darth Vader is back...but wait, shouldn't he be not around anymore due to the events of TFU1? Post your opinions and theories and try the poll.

I might buy Starkiller still being alive since he was very strong in the force and there have been more amazing feats done by other Sith Lords in the ancient past of the Star Wars Expanded Universe. As long as they flesh out Starkiller a little more this time around I might check it out as a rental. Other opinions?

for those who haven't seen the trailer it's on Youtube or go to

I think we largely ASSUMED that the "Starkiller is killed by the emperor and Vader" was the canonical ending and it wasn't? maybe Starkiller canonically kicked Vader's ass but left him alive?

In anycase, I'm not particularly excited about TFU2, as I was super stoked for TFU and it definitely didn't live up to the hype.

the only reason hes back is so they can make a 2nd game and George Lucas can continue to fatten his wallet with our hard earned money and shattered dreams.

There are two endings. The canonical ending where Starkiller commits self-sacrifice to save the Rebel Alliance, and the Alternate Reality Tangent Ending when he kills Vader and becomes the Emperor's new lapdog (see Ultimate Sith Edition). As for the assumptions, it was stated that he had become one with the Force, ie. if he's coming back it's as a Force Ghost. So something else must have happened, hopefully that isn't stupid!

Naturally it makes sense he is back, he is the main character. If there is a sequel the MC must not have died. "No matter the odds the MC will always triumph and save the day."

I think the dark ending is canon, I don't think he was having armor grafted onto him, I think it was just experimental surgery. I think Darth Vader was talking in the trailer b/c he is still alive as a ghost.

No, the dark Ending is Non-Canon, there are two DLC Missions of the What-If Original Trilogy with Dark Starkiller fighting Luke Skywalker. The Light Ending is Canon.

I'm just throwing shit at the wall, hoping something might stick.. I could only manage to play through the game once without being stupefied by it, I don't even remember the ending I got.

Persona 3: FES says hi.

OT: Why is the Force Unleashed even getting a sequel? It told its story and had an ending that was actually an ending. As in, one that ended. And furthermore, why is Starkiller back? What point was there in retconning his death? He doesn't need to be back, because there's nothing more to tell about him. The first game already did that. Which brings me back to my main point - why is the Force Unleashed even getting a sequel?

Hmmm, well I have very mixed opinions about the whole thing. Not my type of game for the most part, and the reviews didn't have me running out to make an exception. My interest in the second one depends entirely on how well they improve it, any way it goes I'm not running out screaming to buy it.

Force Unleashed is one of those games I might pick up for $10 on a console, or download for a similar price (or less) on something like Steam. In both cases I'd have to be fairly bored for whatever reason.

As far as the storyline goes, from what I heard the expansions and such had him going off to kick Luke Skywalker's butt and everything else. It definatly ran into the whole "alternative universe" type thing.

It's definatly not the first "seperate universe" because you had a whole series of Star Wars sequels featuring the concept of the Moffs/Nobles of The Empire putting up a fake 'Son of The Emperor' to lead the Empire as their puppet. He was named Triclops or whatever since he had three eyes, and possesed no force powers at all but faked them with cybernetic implants (lightning blasters built into his hands, etc...) to sell his legitimacy to the majority of people who had no idea about The Force. (The Glove Of Darth Vader, etc...). Some concepts from that universe DID make it into the general canon in some form, though Timothy Zahn's directly contridictory future seems to have become the canon with pretty much everything from that series having become total "elseworlds" type fodder, despite it having some interesting concepts for the age level it was written for.

Really Starkiller is no worse than Triclops (I think I remember the name right) was. A character can be interesting without being canon. I've always kind of thought that bringing out Triclops as a hidden character in a Star Wars games just for the sheer WTF goofyness of it would be kind of cool. It would have a lot of people going 'WTF was that guy that just wiped me out' and probably looking into a version of the universe few people remember.

The big problem with the non-Zahn sequel was the age level it was written for. Some of it was far too kiddy to work. On a certain pragmatic level however I could always see the logic behind the Moffs trying to produce a puppet heir like that, rather than letthing Thrawn step up quite like he did. What's more I sort of suspect that if they did Thrawn might very well have fallen into line under him as he did seem relatively loyal before Papaltine's death. Written in a more serious fashion it could have been truely epic. I also thought the idea of using cyberware to fake the force powers was quite interesting especially when it was written. Things like lightning blasters, micro tractor beams, and other things... he was actually a pretty BA character.

Honestly, I'm really hoping that this whole thing is just one giant bait and switch. I didn't care for what the original game did to Star Wars canon, but I accepted it all the same. Cheapening Starkiller's sacrifice for the Rebellion by bringing him back for a sequel is just rubbing salt into reopened wounds.

I'm still betting on a Force Manifestation, or CLONE.

Think about it, a guy that powerful in the force... The Emperor would clone him. The Emperor kept bodies to possess. The Emperor + Starkiller's force = unstoppable.

cloning, maybe?

Starkiler might have some dead tissue or something left behind when he died, after all.

Actually if you watch the ending movie, his whole sodding body is intact. Tissue samples galore. I am DEFINATLY betting cloning, Starkiller was just too powerful not to try and turn into a weapon. His memories of his past life could be force echos (I made that up) or something.

No way the dark ending is canon, Leia, Mon Mothma, and the other Rebels died in the dark ending.

Of course he's alive, nothing is impossible with the power of crappy writing!

PS: I actually enjoyed TFU on a primitive, "I'm the most badass jedi eva, and I can kill you with a flick on my wrist" level. :3

Well, KotOR - namely Carth's punk ass - told us that "the force can to terrible things". It can probably also do miraculous things, such as, say, bring someone back from near-death.

So long as I can still wear my hooded combat gear and ceremonial Jedi robes, I'm happy.

great idea, Poorly Executed, Is probably the best way to describe TFU1.

I broke the disk & controllers with the Star destroyer boss, Its clearly broken.

TFU2 is on my watch, and prepare to watch them fail AGAIN list.
