Budget troubles? That's just crazy talk from a crazy man.

Hey look!

T0ad may be crazy. But they also have an army of corgi warriors who will not be distracted by cute kitty cats.
Also, :) Great dancing!
I knew it!

Also, that is so Goddamn adorable.

I need to sit down...

I don't think so.

I mean, I know the threads can be shitty but the issues are pretty important so I don't think they should just be swept under the rug.

Fun threads and not-so-fun threads should learn to co-exist!

As I said, the issues are important but the people discussing them do so in a manner that seems to be right at home in the R&P section, where other issues of equal importance are discussed in a similar manner.
I totally see where you'd coming from but I think they should be categorised into their sub forums bases on the subject of discussion rather than how they are discussed.

Otherwise, everything controversial would just end up in R&P.
It should have it's own sub forum considering its frequency of discussion, even in featured content, and importance.

Unlike, say, drowning threads *shudders*
As I said in the beginning, giving it it's own place is probably the best idea.

I've been down there for so long I thought all was lost, and fun and whimsy were a thing of the past.

In that little celebration I think sharing one of my favorite videos ever is in order. :D

It's funny that you mention fun and also whimsy, it sounds like you may find a home over there, with we The Injustice League :D.

Over there we have lots of fun, and also whimsy!
Lolwut?

Dude, I'm in the Brovengers, why would I want to join you people? :D

We have plenty of whimsy fun, and there's even blackjack and hookers shenanigans. :D
We have plenty of double agents and there's currently some kind of distorted peace, or so I am informed.

And you can't expect me to know every brovenger.
I'm a ninja toaster, so it would make sense that you wouldn't know that.

It's okay, not all spies are what they are cracked up to be. :D
No most of the spies are quite terrible, they never steal the documents we leave lying around when we go for coffee, it's rather weird.
That's weird because we pay ours qui-huh what?

No, I wasn't saying anything. >.>

<.<

I think they';re just screwing with you guys to get extra overtime pay. Our double agents used to do that, but then we fed to them to the manticore.

Edit: done fixed my goof

This thread is a disgrace. Any discussion that was to be had here has been smothered by inviting people to post stupid gifs and shit. I hope it gets locked soon.
In all this madness there is a discussion going on.

Some want to put all ~ISM threads into R&P, some want to just leave it alone, and some think it's best to put them in their own part of the forums.

:) The rest so far has been good old fun.

I like the -ism idea rather than forcing them all into R&P cuz then I wouldn't see my favorite arguments anymore. Yes I do enjoy them a little bit...

But "RPG" would make for such a great abbreviation...
Though a "gender" forum would also be neat I think.

Also: you should join us:

Calibanbutcher. Sorry to bug ya but I got to important things to tell ya.

1. Good dancing.

2. You need to edit your posts quoting SkarKrow on page one. The videos are on autoplay.

Please and thank you.

You blew all your money on Gif weaponry!
T0ad. I tested the corgi warriors on Fiz. They worked just as planed.

I warn you though. Be wary of her. She told me of a great and awesome power she holds. If SkarKrow really wants another war with the Brovengers. We must be prepared to take at least some losses.

FUN.

Also, what do you think of having a spot on the forums just for the ~ISM talks?

Rather than moderate on a case by case basis the mods introduced that dumb health bar system, so now if you mess up a certain number of times no matter how trivial you get ban.

To add insult to injury they even give you a little insulting gif like it's somehow justified in every single case. I can think of at least a dozen long times posters some I didn't even like who were ban over the most trivial of posts.

Thins like:
-saying you pirate stuff (Even talking about emulation can get you in trouble)
-talking about other websites (I understand you don't want the competition being advertised here but a warning or suspension is silly when you could just delete the offending post)
-questioning a mods credibility
-questioning a reviewers credibility
(both of these should be welcomed as long as it's civil)
-admitting use of ad blockers (This is silly, some are VERY invasive and can cause lag on slower pc's.)

Move them to R&P? Abso-fucking-lutely. Most of these gender related or -isms posts are about making political or ideological standpoints. With that said, party hard! my fellow fun loving escapists.

I remember the good ol' days when us furries were too lazy to respond to the same shit every thread, so we had every topic that mentioned furries locked as soon as possible. A similar thing happened to pedophilia and Ponies (for a while). Where do these people get the energy to argue about this shit constantly? You're never going to enlighten everyone, just give up and pick your battles more wisely.

Forums... forums never changes...
Flame wars, veterans thinking they carry weight, deluded followers, one-day-old experts and last but not least - complainers. you know, like this thread, complaining how "everything is worse, especially forums". Eventually, all forums grow old, bitter and full of rage towards change.
They are usually called "oldfags" (as opposed to "newfags" titled new users, or anyone that disagrees with the elderly).

So no, the forums havent changed, you did.

As for the original question, no, they should not be moved there, for not all isms have to do with religion or politics. unless you rename the section to "everything that somone didnt like gets thrown here". untill then, leave this section to religion and politics. like its name says.
And let us go back to our forumisms.

So I went back (in time) to see if I truly had changed as much as you claimed. Lo and behold, I found that even in the very beginning of my posting career, I mostly posted snarky comments and enjoyed the flamewars.
Though I must admit that back then my grammar and vocabulary was still a tad "lacking".
Really, I wouldn't say that I changed too much, it's just that now I spend a lot more time on these forums, which is why the constant barrage of "#ism" topics seems more prevalent to me.
I venture we give these topics their very own home and leave the off-topic forum for random musings and such.

Though I admit, in my younger and more vulnerable years, I partook in some arguments myself, fanning the flames and creating long essays detailing my view, backed up with statistics and sources. Shame on me.

I know it's been said before, but boy do you live up to your username.

There is still a discussion to be had here, it's just that not everyone takes themselves too seriously in this thread and instead has a bit of levity to go with their opinion, something that those of us arguing in the ism-threads sometimes would do well to implement.

ClockworkPenguin said:
Oh sure, dump all the anti fun on us.
You'll see, one day you'll go too far and we shall rise up and flood your precious whimsy in walls of text and demands of sources for every statement and philosophical discourse over the precise meanings of analogies. I mean, what IS fun?

...

Just as soon as we can decide whether religion is the evilest evil to ever evil or quite nice and full of cake and friendship. Any day now.

But don't you see? Once we relocate the ism-threads to your precious basement, the arguments could never stop. Once you have decided on the least evil religion, you would have to argue the exact definition of "patriarchy" and "privilege" over and over again, until you reached a consent, but by then something else would have changed, forcing you into another long-winded argument. Your forums would be less stable than syria and egypt and we would be safe from you, because you could never resist the constant debates to be had in every thread.

Its not necessarily what you write, but how you perceive is what has changed. you wont feel it of course (and neither did i till i destroyed a forum), as it came naturally for you, and those you went along this whole time wont either, but a 3rd party will notice it quite easily.
Like you said, you noticed that because you spend more time here, not because the place changed.
Giving discussion seperate forums is fine, showing what you dont like into R&P is not however.

And there is no shame in having an argument, there is a shame for being hypocrite and complaining that others do the same thing you do though. The OP read more like "i dont like this so make it go away" rather than "lets make forum more detailed".

Well, that might be because I simply adapted two speeches from two different video-games and changed them to suit my needs.
My point is though, that feminism, sexism, racism, gender-ism and, more importantly, the theoretical groundwork associated to them, are all very much political topics which would do well in a forum dedicated to, say, politics.
Yes, all these "-isms" are (sadly) more or less a part of society, but if we want society to change, isn't that something worthy of being discussed in the politics section?

After all, a big-scale change is usually implemented via regulations and new laws etc.

Also, I very much appreciate that you flat-out call me a hypocrite in the end, always good to end on a high note.

I disagree. All of those can be completely unpolitical. politics does not cover everything and cannot be used as a blanked statement.
And while societal change often come via laws, that is not always the case. societies change, and sometimes laws and politics are the ones trying to catch up (or, as is more often, fight it).
Well, you are complaining about people arguing about sexism on offtopic discussion, while arguing about it with me in offtopic discussion. its pretty much the definition.

We aren't really arguing about sexism, but more about WHERE it should be argued about...
