Jumping on the computer, I find this [http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110131/ap_on_re_us/us_veterans__flag_dispute] article on my homepage. Wondering what it's about I read it and started to think about the premise of the idea and of the flag itself [http://www.honorandremember.info/zcart/images/cart-flag-normal.png].
Personally, I don't like the flag itself since it looks like a Campbell's soup can, and the words take up way too much space on it. I personally believe that the only reason any words of any kind should be on a flag if its for a state/country's motto, and that it shouldn't be a main focus of the flag. Also, I'm not liking that the folded up American flag is included as if it was more of an afterthought (yes, I understand the significance) and because it's not just fallen soldiers families that get a folded flag.
Now, I'm not against the idea of it (having a flag to represent soldiers who've lost their lives due to war to be flown beneath Old Glory and the POW/MIA flag), but the flag itself just looks bad.
Well my fellow Escapist, what do you think?
