Poll: The Infamous Prototype

It'd be cool to see them work together on an original IP, keeping the sandbox aspect of both games, but a direct combination of inFamous & Prototype gameplay would not turn out well. But since both developers have showed that they know how to make fun sandbox games, throw in Rockstar and Volition in the mix for some interesting results.

I have not had a chance to play Prototype yet, but I love Infamous. From what I have seen, I believe that they would go pretty good together.

I do know the story for Prototype, though, and I say that Sucker Punch should get that part of the production.

The idea on paper sounds good. In practice would be a different story. Merging these 2 companies would yield the same result as all the other mergers. You will still have 1 head guy or gal running a team. Even if they took the best of the best from both teams and combined them into 1 superdev it doesn't guarantee anything.

It depends on what kind of game it will be, co-op, a rivalry between the two or what have you.

If it was a co-op it would have to have one badass ************ of a main enemy to justify these two powerhouses teaming up. Though I imagine that in all cases of traversing the terrain, Alex would have to give Cole a piggyback all the time... holy shit that would be an epic move! Cole firing bolts of electricity atop Alex zipping along at 50m/s. If it was a co-op, I can only imagine the sheer epic of the co-op attacks.

If it was a fight between the two, fuck me, it would be awesome. This game must be made!

As much hate as this will get, I don't see it being much of a fight. Thinking power wise and not obsessive fan boy wanking in his basement wise, Alex is the deadlier of the two.

If you saw the ending video, you know what he can survive. This also assumes that Alex lets Cole see him before attacking since shapeshifting is in his bag of tricks. Etc etc.

I like inFamous, granted the morality system can fuck right off, but I don't hold it against Sucker Punch since they apparently didn't get the memo that basing powers off morality is wanking retarded. However, the game is still good and Cole is still a badass.

Part of Cole's badassery is that electricity is his ONLY weapon and thus he has to get creative. He isn't that fast, fast as an athletic human but in superbeing comparisons, that isn't that fast. He isn't that tough, tougher than you or I, but again his vulnerability is part of what makes the game what it is if you like a challenge.

So personally, I don't think a grudge match is a good idea. I DO think a rivalry would be a phenomenal idea. Give them a goal to head towards and see who can one up the other in cleverness. Alex still has an advantage but in this age of Power Lines and the like, Cole can still put in a hell of a show and pull off a win.

Can you imagine Cole and Alex vs the world? Hell, as the big nerd I am, I am down with both characters continuing to have their powers mutate. Alex will obviously mutate constantly but it isn't a stretch for Cole either. After all, how stable can superpower granting material be?

I dont see a game about both of them merging working out, just because of how different they work, I guess there is a way, like one poster mentioned earlier cole would be range and alex would be melee, but alex is just much to fast, and makes kills in one shot easily, and doesnt need to look for recharge points that hard, just grab an enemy and consume...Cole just couldnt keep up, unless they do a sequel to infamous, have cole learn some more...of the abilities he can get, if you played the game you know what im talking about, then do a match up...it could work.

Regardless both games are good for what they are, I loved both of them, and dont really understand the big deal, I mean two great superhero games come out around the same time! thats like double the playtime with double the powers!...so what do the fans of superpowers and sandbox games do? they argue -_-
