Antagonists.
I'll go ahead and admit that eight times out of ten I hate the hero and I absolutely love the antagonists. I also intend to believe that heroes are self righteous egotists - just like the villains. So here's a thread dedicated to great men and women alike who fought for something and probably lost. At times they were insane, cruel, and unkind. Other times they were just on the wrong side of an issue and they were labeled generally bad people Whatever the case they were the antagonists and in this thread we shall salute them
So please, share your stories of great antagonists and hell, even stories of how Antagonists died in embarrassing ways and how they deserved better.
One of my most absolute favorite antagonists - though I forgot about him for an incredibly long time - is without a doubt Slagar the cruel.
*Spoilers start here for Redwall and Mattimeo.*
In the first Redwall he had in fact helped the heroes out with vital information after he saw his mother killed before his very own eyes while he was basically just a child. Fearing that he would be imprisoned due to his past alignment he made his escape and stole numerous objects and even murdered a civilian - As he would later hide he lost half his face from a snake bite.
In Mattimeo he's the main antagonist and no longer a kid. Vengeful and sly he'll stop at nothing to have his revenge and he'll kill anyone in his way - that is until he falls into a well and suffers the most bull shittiest death ever.
