personally, i'm voting for Neill Blomkamp. If he can make district 9, i'm confident he can do a mass effect movie.
You thought district 9 was good? wow...sms_117b said:If it was Neil Blomkamp that did District 9 (my pick for best film of '09) I would love to see him do Mass Effect.
I did, the story was enticing, I sided with the aliens naturally (unlike Avatar which felt very forced, but that could be just me or reading about it and having preconceptions from "dances with Smurfs and other things), the CG was perfect little enough not to be totally obvious, the characters we well rounded.Trebort said:You thought district 9 was good? wow...
I picked other, but the poll seems to be nerfed.
what do you mean by nerfed?Trebort said:You thought district 9 was good? wow...sms_117b said:If it was Neil Blomkamp that did District 9 (my pick for best film of '09) I would love to see him do Mass Effect.

Made that in the past (16-17 years ago now) what will he he make today? I'd say it would be as bad an idea as giving Tim Burton a cheque and telling him to do what he wants.Jfswift said:Really.. no one wants James Cameron? but..but.. he made this! If anyone could pull it off it would be him.
He'd make...Avatar..?manythings said:Made that in the past (16-17 years ago now) what will he he make today? Yea, maybe you're right, kind of like the last (different directors now) Indiana Jones or the Star Wars movies. Maybe some fresh blood would be good.manythings said:Made that in the past (16-17 years ago now) what will he he make today? I have rarely met anyone who didn't. It's an amazing film.Trebort said:[

Well he saw going to, but that kind of tanked.Blue-State said:Neil already did Halo.
Are you meaning that as a positive or a negative? Because I can only see giving an artist more paint as a massive plus.robakerson said:Besides, he hasn't really done anything with a large budget to my knowledge, who knows how he'd perform with one...
Well TBH Neill would have been my second choice if Ridley wasn't on the list. As to that comment, I meant it for what I said. Having never directed anything for myself, it's hard to imagine how much of an effect this would have on the director, but I would think a movie with a large budget would be logistically much harder to pull off than a movie with a small budget. I'm also of the opinion that many directors pour the top half of their overbloated budget into unnecessary CGI, etc.reg42 said:Well he saw going to, but that kind of tanked.Blue-State said:Neil already did Halo. Are you meaning that as a positive or a negative?
