When did my controller become so sub-standard? What the fuck?

I don't want to be waving my arms and stuff to play Fallout: New Vegas and Bioshock 2. I want to use my tried and tested controller that has NEVER failed my before, while I know that if I get Project Natal, I fill promptly make myself look like a jackass before falling on my head somehow and injuring myself.

People play games to unwind. Why would you unwind by playing a game that has you flailing your arms around or waggling a remote?

I love motion sensing. All you Luddites get on board :p. You can have your traditional controllers. But when the Nextbox comes out my combo traditional/motion/voice controls we make you look archaic.

Also motion controls does NOT equal "flailing your arms around"

Call me boring but I'll stick to my good old fashioned controllers/keyboard & mouse dont get me wrong I'm sure jumping around could be fun for 15 minutes or so but I would much rather the mainstream remain as it always has and not fall into Nintendos trap of streamlining what is essentialy a gimmick.

Companies need to invest money in dysfunctional technology because without that we'd never get functional technology. Nothing invented ever worked perfectly the first time. We have to build on previous motion sensing technologies to fix their flaws.
Exactly, if everybody would've stuck with what worked, a lot of the things in gaming we take for granted wouldn't exist. For example, how many tries at 3d controls and camera failed before Super Mario 64 got it right?

Motion controls are still pretty much untreaded waters. It'll probably come unto it's own sooner or later. If not, something else will come along. I'd rather the games industry try new things and fail, than stagnate in an eternal status quo.

Depends, can they put motion sensors to use in hardcore games?

If more hardcore games get published on the Wii (->Winter<-) I'll be a lot more supportive of them.
