Nothing truly ground-breaking or monumental to gaming history, mind you.

But I've got some leftover money, and I want to get a Star Wars game that lets me go nuts with Force powers.
Should I go for The Force Unleashed 1(Ultimate Sith Edition) or The Force Unleashed 2, both being the same price?

(And before someone suggests it, I already have KotOR. And the second one, too.)

Depends on your chosen format.

If PC, neither.

If console, the original.

Personally, I feel that Jedi Knight 2 and Jedi Academy on PC are much better games, though. Especially if you activate the realistic dismemberment.

Bleugh...

FU has a better narrative and is fun to play, but the levels are laid out in insane and illogical ways and the difficulty curve is all over the place.

FU2 is better, mechanically, sort of. And has moderately better level design. But it's insultingly short, and pretty damn easy, and the PC port is an absolute monstrosity when it comes to keybindings (if you're getting it on PC - Trying to figure out how to level up abilities was an exercise in frustration for me).

So... take from that what you will.

EDIT: Like the above post said, Jedi Knight II and Jedi Academy are probably far more worth your time. They're clunkier and I guess not quite as balls-to-the-wall insane (unless you use console commands to cheat, which is ever so fun), but I enjoyed them far more than Force Unleashed.

I'm pretty much set on one of the TFU games, mostly because I played the PS2 port of the first at a friend's house at one point and enjoyed the hell out of it, and because KotOR (Thank you, Steam sale, you magnificent bastard) got me into this big Star Wars mood for the last few weeks.
So hey, if both are lying in the bargain bin at the local game store anyway, why not grab one of those?
I was just wondering if the second one was quite as worse than the first as I'd heard around the time of it's release, seeing as I heard bad stuff about X-Men: Origins: Wolverine, too, and that ended being pretty damn regardless of it.

And I was set on avoiding the PC ports from the start, mostly because, well, my PC sucks.

So, the original it is. Thanks for the input

I would get the original Force Unleashed. While it may be too short for a $60 game, it's $20 now and it's fun to play. It gets a little repetitive, but no more so than God of War. I love the game, it's a guilty pleasure of mine. The only reason I don't play it more is because the Mac version has its own built in xbox 360 gamepad driver so the tattieboggle one (which every dev except aspyr expects you to have...) doesn't work. I have to manually uninstall the tattieboggle one, restart my computer and then I can play the game properly.

TL;DR get SWTFU

How about getting Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy? Those were both extremely fun games to play as a Jedi.
