Poll: The question to end all questions - Chocolate or Vanilla?

I pick vanilla even though I think chocolate tastes better. Bow this might seem strange to some of you, but I will explain my reasoning. Vanilla ice cream tastes kinda plain unless you have ice cream with real vanilla rather than rotten bark which is what makes up the majority of the vanilla ice creams out there. You don't get tired of plain, it never feels too much and more importantly it goes with everything. Want some chocolate sauce on that? Go ahead! Want some caramel sauce on that? Go ahead! Want chocolate, caramel, M&M's peanuts, hazel nuts, pieces of fudge and banana on that? Go ahead!

Vanilla can be customized, it can be used together with other desserts like apple cake, brownies or even waffles. Also it works for milk shakes.

In conclusion: Chocolate for its taste, vanilla for its thousands of uses.

I hate ice cream. It's just too sweet. I'm not really a fan of desserts in general. Unless it's cheesecake. Cheesecake isn't always that sweet.

My absolute favorite kind of ice cream is chocolate with marshmallow cream all up in dat. But moose tracks is a great vanilla-based ice cream as well.

Neither vanilla nor chocolate is amazing on its own. They're template flavors to me.

I like them both, but using cold logic I have to go with vanilla on the poll. It's just more versatile- I can add a greater variety of toppings to vanilla and have it still come out good than I can with chocolate. Or, to put it another way, I've never seen or heard of vanilla topping for chocolate ice cream.

Chocolate for me, as I see it as more of a food substance than an additive, which vanilla is. Whilst I do like the taste more than vanilla, it may also be attributed to the fact that cocoa can be addictive, and so I would tend to crave it more.

I'm actually surprised to see vanilla winning, and I like to be surprised by Escapist polls.

Always vanilla. I love vanilla in food, tea, lotions, everything. Favorite smell, hands down.

On a similar vein, I'll always choose white chocolate over milk or dark, too.

vanilla or chocolate varies from product. so my answer is limited to ICE CREAM ONLY.
vanilla. that is not to say its the best taste, that is, without a doubt, caramel, but id take vanilla over chocolate any day.

There is never, EVER enough chocolate.

around 1 0days ago i ate 3 larbe bars of pure chocolate within around 2 hours period. all this washed by pure cocoa.
this was as clsoe i got to vomiting as i did over the last 8 years. I didnt vomit, but i didnt want to repeat the experience (and yeah last time i acutalyl vomited was very long time ago when i had disease that had a vomit symptom).

yeah, white chocolate FTW. i can udnerstand why people would ever prefer black chocolate. sure its cheaper, but the white one is very well worth it.
