Poll: The Rating Game!

Inspire by the apparent popularity of the "Should you tell your other half that xxxxx is cute" thread, i thought I'd make a new topic on the same lines. Lets see where this goes.

The rating game. For those not in the know of it, or who know it under a different name, the rating game is when you (gender irrelevant) wither with your friends, by yourself or with any bugger within earshot, deduce a persons hotness level with a 1-10 rating system. For example
"Man, she was at least an 8."
"Nah, I'd say 6 tops."

Personally, I play it, but in a very un serious manner and only amongst friends. I know girls and guys who play it on a regular basis and can understand the self esteem damage (or reinforcement for some) that overhearing ones rating can do.

Lets get some thoughts..

I find it mean to rate anyone under a 6 to their face. But yes, I do play.

This actually brings back memories of grade school when a bunch of my friends and me were busted by the principal for circulating around a sheet of paper that rated the girls in the classroom... It's funny looking back on it decades later, but at the time we all thought we'd be expelled from school permanently (we weren't)

Sometimes I do. I tend to be more subjective about it, since my taste varies. I'll rate someone a 9 on a good day, and then they walk by the next and I'd be more inclined to either a.) give them a 5, or b.) throw up.

FTR, I rated my girlfriend an 8 before we talked.

I am glad she doesn't use the net a lot.

Sorta...

Me and a couple of friends have taken to playing a particularly misogynistic game, usually round clubs etc. called "dibs no stealies". Usually involves spotting a attractive woman (usually women so far out of my league, playing sexist mind games is the closest I'll get to them) before the other people playing spot them and calling out "dibs no stealies" on said woman. It's way better when the women involved hear you. You then tally up how many you've got on the way home in the cab.

No, I don't really rate women. You see, I'd class myself as a one, tops, so judging someone elses appearance would be more than a little stupid.
