I like the idea of video game remakes, I really liked the resident evil remake on the game cube and the game boy remake of shining force was pretty cool. Wild Arms alter code F and lunar silver star complete are both good examples of how a remake should be handled remaking the game with better graphics and expand content I've played the originals and the remakes and the remakes are a much better experience.

Depends really. I mean any games from before the Gamecube, Xbox and PS2 era are acceptable (Resident Evil on Gamecube and MGS). I also think that LoZ OoT on the 3DS and the recent Halo remake are also acceptable.
The only time I seen to disagree however is the Ninja Guaiden Sigma since it look the same as the original game.

Id day it depends on the game. Some games failed to show what they were really capable of (Kotor2) and could be remade to make them far better while others would only be remade for profit and slightly updated graphics.

I think remakes are useless, as with games the mechanics/style will be old and so a remake will either not be as enjoyable as the original was, or will have to change things alot, and then the remake is only there for the name to increase sales. With films I also don't see the point as they are confined to a story they are changing, and so ends up not as good as the original, however I can see the use of digitally remastering the film/game.
