of course we are, and there isnt anything we can do. This whole recession going on here in the UK is a load of balls but because everyone can shut up about it, it will just get worse and worse. Children of Men - the future that awaits us.

Well the town I live in is right next to Windsor, which is right across the border from Detroit, both of these cities have(or had) a huge manufacturing base with the auto sector, Windsor's unemployment rate is higher than 10% right now, worst in Canada. The lesson here is don't put all your eggs in one basket.

I say raise demand.

No really, do it. Jobs are being tossed out the window because we are going nuts and not wanting to buy that we used to. There are some rediculous things however that did no one any justice like making a loan to buy a house you can't afford, with a loan you can't afford either because you are out of work with 20k in credit card debts. I also suggest the reform of credit card companies(give them a bail-out not the automotive companies.

The banks as of now are fine but being brought down by the rest of the economy which they brought down in the first place(ironic huh?). We now need to get all of this squared away and then we can be focusing on the real threat to everything we love: dolphins.

I think that I have a solution. Every country all at once declares war on each other. Its full proof. Unless they use Nuclear weapons ;(

If my dad loses his job, then my family is fucked. If I don't get to go to college, then life will suddenly become a lot more difficult.

Fool, proof. The term is FOOL proof.
Full proof would mean it's not possible to be filled.
Sorry, I am awful at speeling :)

Get FireFox, it has a built in spell checker. I would be seriously screwed with out it. :)
I have that, but full and fool proof are both the spelled correctly. So i just look over it by accident.
Yah, I actually do that too. Lame....

You forgot the option "HELL NO." If you're asking if we think that the economy is in the great depression part 2, then no. The perfect storm of crud that lead up to the Great Depression has not reoccurred. The current economy is nowhere near as bad as it was, and it would need to take a major nose-dive to get back down there.

Why does everybody blame Gordon Brown for everything?

It's a worldwide depression that began in the American housing market. Where does Gordon Brown come into it? All I've seen him do is work hard to try and make Britain not be broken.
I don't blame Gorden Brown, I blame George Bush...

I live in america and I get to see a lot of this stuff happen before it hits the other countries. Even Microsoft got hit and had to cut 98,000 jobs worldwide. Also, a lot of people have been faking thier own deaths to collect on insurance policies.

I realize that we're currently in a recession but are we headed tward the next major depression.

We are in a depression. My dad is the biggest IPO flipper in Colorado so I will survive but the only way to end it is to cut spending which won't happen because we fiscal conservatives have no representation at the moment.
