I just trim mine and it has retty good thickness.

I have been shaving my mustache casue t looks bad when iys growing it(doesn't get any thicker)

So I say trimming works better. Of course the results could vary due to skin & facial hair types as well as growth rate.

My facial hair is made of steel.
I have to use diamond knives to cut it.

Well, maybe no.
But it was worth a try, wasn't it?

No, read some cracked.com
Facial hair only seems to grow faster because the folicles mature over time (duhh)

The reason hair stops growing is because the ends die out. So trimming it will make it continue to grow up to a certain point adding on to the length you had. Cutting fully, it makes sense what Aac18 said about it.

Shaving makes you lose all of your superpowers, especially in Canada, where the lumberjacks will prey upon you.

Part of it is that certain people grow hair faster as my friend mike is Italian and had a full beard going by sophomore year where as other people grow hair slower. Being of a certain race does not guarantee anything but it certainly helps. To make it simple ask mythbusters they can help.

Of course they said slipping on a banana peel was busted yet I did it myself and it hurts. But with Jamie's walrus stache he might know something we don't.

As with most things, it differs from person to person. With some, it only appears to grow thicker/faster because short hairs are darker. Others it actually does grow faster.

Maybe my facial hair just grows abnormally fast or something but I have to shave EVERY DAY to keep it smooth there. Or maybe you guys just have a different idea of what is an acceptable level of stubble.

Just do what I did; remove your jaw. Then you'll never have to worry about it again.

The beard will not grow back thicker, it will just grow faster. by shaving old hairs, it wont magically make new ones come out of no where, thats silly, they just grow back.

I don't think thats really possible. I mean, my brother is 25 and he shaves, but he can't grow a beard and his facial hair never gets past the stubble stage.

If you were ever wondering, this very topic is why parents often try to keep their daughters from shaving their legs for as long as possible.

If you ever wind up seeing a women's leg when they haven't shaved in a while, you may see a noticable descrepancy between the hair color of the upper and lower part of her legs.
Of course, if someone's hair is darker, they may just shave the entirety of their legs.

Maybe for some people, but it doesnt grow back faster for me >_>

Either way, unless I can grow a proper beard, I'm not tolerating bumfluff.

If you do it right, thicker yes, faster no. No amount of shaving will make your hair grow faster. Trimming the edges keeps it thicker, though, since you don't have to supply as many nutrients to hair health and growth, but nothing will make it come in faster. The only way to get more beard, though, is to shave it for a bit, then let it grow, keeping it trimmed short for a time, then start growing it more.

What it actually does is blunt the hair that's already there.

So no, shaving does not make it thicker. It makes it look thicker

This isn't based on personal experience or opinion. This is based on a knowledge of cutaneous histology and physiology.
