Specifically, what I'm talking about are the ones that go bat-s*** crazy on Sonic-haters or people who say one bad thing about any of the games in general. I've heard very bad things about these guys, specifically about a game journalist who had received death threats via mail, and had his personal e-mail compromised several times.
I honestly hate them, but take what they say with a grain of salt. If you don't comply, you're a target, and you will probably be taken down. They've even gotten in the way of when Sonic Team (who should really hand the reins over to someone else because they don't know what the crap they're doing with Sonic anymore except in Sonic Colors) when developing a game. I'll provide some examples from Sonic 4 complaints. They made some complaints (I'm lying with what I say here, they complained a LOT) about some things they saw in the first trailer. They had been genuine complaints, such as, "Oh, it looks like he's not fast enough" (In the trailer it had only showed him at very slow speeds) to, "Well, he doesn't have his pot-belly, or same running animations." (Again, genuine complaint, seeing as how this was supposed to be more of a sequel/throwback to the original Sonic games). So Sonic Team complied and changed the running animation. But then the complaints got silly. Ranging from, "The backgrounds aren't 'background-y enough!" to, "His eyes aren't the same color!" And it was all downhill from there.
So, what are your thoughts on the fanbase?
